Paul Magrs is a member of this forum, though he hasn’t posted much, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he saw it here. That said, good on him for noticing and apologizing. That was a very nice blog post. I think he was tweeted directly about it recently. I think his response is pretty good. I thought it was a very thoughtful response.

So Authors are beholden to apologise for anything they've written if society as a whole as it evolves now deems it inappropriate? If time travel were possible would we bring Shakespeare and Dickens forward before the court of Modern public opinion and demand an apology for language and terms they used? I'm not sure if anyone was demanding apologies from Magrs or Big Finish, as opposed to simply seeking acknowledgement from other listeners that the use of the term isn't acceptable now in the present. I don't think that's at all unreasonable. In fact I tend to agree with the OP's sentiments, and if nothing else, I question whether the use of the term is appropriate to the genera or the franchise. On the one hand, I can very much see why Magrs thought of that as something that Lucie might say after her loving jabs at The Doctor's attire, yet in the long run I'm not sure the goal of realism in any sense supports the usage, any more than, say, a desire for realism might support the use of racial slurs in a DW historical. I don't suppose it's a case that Magrs should have known better or anything - sometimes it just happens that certain terminology takes on unintended connotations before many of us even have the chance to notice, until that terminology is no longer as useful for communicating clearly, so we try and update our vocabularies accordingly when we have the good fortune to have it pointed out to us that updates might be in order.

And because in the context of Big Finish you can point to Zaltys (Rebecca Root's Sable, specifically) as being the product of that kind of questioning. Directly or indirectly, it's all about consideration.
I cut down your response to reply, but I just wanted to say that I thought that it was all outstandingly well reasoned and well stated. Bravo.

And as long as the conversations are honest and above all, kind, from all sides, i don’t think there should be anything to be apprehensive about as without theses conversations nothing would have ever changed and thats a world that bears not thinking about.
