I sort of like, though until the next series we won't know how much, hints as to 13 trying to be more like her pre-Time War selves, when everything was, to a degree, more straightforward and it was more about just adventuring through the universe. No grand fury of a lonely God. I think there could be something meaty in the Doctor having to face up to the fact that no, you can't go home again: things have changed, forever. There's no going back. It could also add a metatextual (thanks Shearman) about a lot of the nostalgia-heavy media we see nowadays.
But that's just me. What do you think or want?

To be honest I do not want an arc for the Doctor.

I want some sort of character arc at least. With the video I recently shared on the Series 11 youtube thread, it raised an excellent point of how inconsistent characterization of 13 was. Between episodes, 13 says that she both loves and hates conspiracy theories. So while an arc in regards to the plot I would like, I don't need it. But if there isn't a consistent, and recurring arc to 13's character, I'm going to be very hard pressed to keep going with 13 in general. This also extends to Yaz to an extent as well.

I think her arc should be facing something soul shakingly evil, and actively deciding to not let the darkness win and go on being daft, merry, excitably exciting woman she is.

Inconsistent characterization is one of the things I hated about the 12th's era. He was all over the place, the writer's had no idea who he was! & then they had the nerve to have him bang on about being kind. Something that felt at odds with the way he was written. I don't see these inconsistencies in 13 at all.

Good time to bump this back up, now that Timeless Children's happened and S13 is cooking.
Wonder to what extent this plays on a divide between 13's happier and more maudlin sides. I also have commented before on what the new dynamic with Rassilon could be - this jealous step sibling who erased the Doctor from Gallifreyean history.
