It's interesting that Wendy Padbury and Peter Purves are both mentioned in the news article. Since neither would be in this first story, what kind of story is the second that we could expect them to be in...?

A few random thoughts ....
2nd story Daughter of the Gods - something to do with Katarina? I thought it odd that neither of Purves' usual EA co-stars (Maureen O'Brien or Jean Marsh) were mentioned. Maybe we are getting a Katarina or Dodo recast?
News story says 1st meeting of 2nd Dr & Master, but this overlooks the 1997 MA The Dark Path by David McIntee
So this is the anniversary boxset for 1&2. That then just leaves us waiting to hear about 3, 5 & 6, plus the New Series Drs
Individual release £15 - bundle £26 - a 13% discount for buying in the bundle. That's what bundles ought to be, much better than some of the recent ones where the bundle discount was one measly pound!
EDIT
Almost forgot to add - great news! I will be pre-ordering!!! Although I hope it's not the beginning of the end for The Early Adventures and we get back to business as usual with season 7 being a full season of 4 x 4part stories

The 2nd Dr story sounds like it could be a bit timey wimey, so maybe she is in that (Jamie's mistress?)
Or else she is playing another role in the 1st Dr story?

I wouldn't think it's possible to do another story with her though, not unless we got something akin to The Boy That Time Forgot (which I don't mind, but I know a lot of people hate). I'd have thought the fifth volume of Third Doctor Adventures would probably be the 3rd's special release, especially given the number of returning characters/recasts.

I would be very surprised if the only anniversary boxsets yet to be announced aren't the Fifth and Sixth Doctors.

A part of me is wondering if Peter Purves was just an accidental typo, and it's just Wendy Padbury in the second story.

At this point I'm beginning to think we might get the Fifth's and Sixth's Doctor Box Sets in 2020. There are only five releases currently down for September, two of which will be released on the same day. I suspect one of them is going there. There is also room for another release in November, and there are probably a couple of things still to be announced for December.

I could see either a Fifth or Sixth Doctor Box Set for September, or a fourth volume of the First Doctor Adventures with Bradley for September, so who knows? But you're right, November and December still have room for a few box sets right now.

Novel Adaptations and 'side step' releases aside, Big Finish tends to make little to no reference or mention of any of the novels. It is the very broad and sweeping way it is worded "For the first time in Big Finish and Doctor Who history" - they shouldn't make claims like that without doing their due diligence.
It is becoming a bit of a habit for BF, they did the same when they said the Fendahl "makes its first appearance in audio" when the Lucie Miller boxset was announced. This overlooked
Kaldor city
Fair enough if BF don't want to mention their competitors' products, I wouldn't criticise them for that, but it does annoy me when they make claims about "Firsts" that simply aren't factually correct
EDIT - Apologies the spoiler tags didn't work but it does refer to something over 15 years ago

TBH these anniversary boxsets / releases are starting to seem a bit like releases BF were doing anyway, so some bright spark decided "Let's make it a Thing and market it as such!"

A part of me is wondering if Peter Purves was just an accidental typo, and it's just Wendy Padbury in the second story. There is no evidence to support this but I wonder if the Second and First Doctors are together in the Daughter of Gods? Or just wishful thinking on my part?

A part of me is wondering if Peter Purves was just an accidental typo, and it's just Wendy Padbury in the second story. I wonder if Peter Purves has finally got his wish* and there will be a direct sequel to TV 'The Savages' with the arrival of the Doctor, Jamie and Zoe to see the reign of "King Steven". (I know the CCs have done some stories set much later in his life.) His daughter might have gained the reputation as 'The Daughter of Gods' given that her father arrived from Space/Time with The Doctor and Dodo.
{Spoiler}* From his interview on the LC recon and other places. And if so, did Steven as king turn out to be "a complete bastard" as he suggested? Whatever, more Steven stories whenever possible, please BF. A great Companion (and a great audio First Doctor too.)
