What do people think of Katarina. Simply by virtue of her gender/sex, as well as being from the ancient world, things would have been different to Jamie had they kept her.
I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that there'll be something in Daughter of the Gods like "If Katarina's here, we are not in our home universe!".

IIRC the character didn't last because the production team felt her background was too limiting. I think that tells you more about their limitations than the character's. Look at what BF did with Erimim who is similar to Katarina in some ways.

Look at what BF did with Erimim who is similar to Katarina in some ways. It's interesting in retrospect because The Massacre, the story immediately after Master Plan, almost feels as though it could've been written for Katarina's character. At least, in its premise. A handmaiden of the gods fleeing Troy who winds up in one of the bloodiest religious conflicts in Western history. Rejig that ever so slightly and you get the potential for something like The Council of Nicaea. The Ark, likewise, could've delved into Katarina's role as a plague carrier in a very interesting way relating to her belief that the Doctor was Zeus. There could've been this tug-of-war between the Doctor trying to teach her that he's not a god, as he performs feats that to Katarina seem awfully god-like. Actually, imagine a Trojan priestess in Tombstone, Arizona. The culture clash there would've been... powerful.

I like how they've given us two alternate covers for Daughter of the Gods, one for each Doctor I wonder if they'll have both available with the CD? They'd have to include a separate insert for the third cover.

Just finished Daughter of the Gods. I forgot any information about it and so was nicely surprised by the first episode cliffhanger. Quite an enjoyable adventure.
