Would so love that idea Scripts on PDF . I have never searched that on my account are there any releases that do have those? Only The Tenth Doctor Adventures Volume 1, thus far. How about emailing BF? Am sure its been suggested before i will search for any previous threads but i for one would love to read while listening definitely .

Another great set... and good to have some fresh talent involved. I'm loving David Warner's cynical Doctor in particular, like the War Doctor relieved of his guilt! Hard to pick a favourite... my take is now up at CultBoxWhen I first listened to the Unbound audios Sympathy for the Devil and Masters of War, I simply fell in love with David Warner's character and portrayal. And he still amazes me today! If he ever were to encounter one of the main incarnations, maybe he should bump into David Bradley's First Doctor with Susan (pre An Unearthly Child).

Am actually looking forward to his meeting with the Valeyard as he isn’t connected .The character is ripe for exploration. His TIME LORD society is free to explore and exploit. Its a truly great incarnation of his Doctor and tbh after the recent listening of FULL FATHOM FIVE am all for him regenerating into David Collings or having Collings as his previous incarnation who somehow escaped the ending.

Finished the last story. Wow, that as wonderful. I loved the great mix of the creepy, the sad and the final message of hope.
You are also never quite sure during the story who the villain is, if the villain is really evil, and the resolution as a bit unexpected ( it does not follow the established tropes completely) and admittedly beautiful. Yes, it is not a perfect happy ending, and it is pretty sad, but there also is a ray of sunshine.
I think this was the most emotionally gripping story of this set for me. However, I think I liked this story as much as the previous one, if for different reasons.
So I am going to repeat myself in saying that this bunch of stories was great and the experiment with the new writers has paid off. I am also happy to hear about all the hints of the direction this spin-off is going to take- and the promise that we will meet some familiar characters, for better or for worse. If it continues with this quality, there is much to look forward to.

I think that this was my favorite Benny box set ever. I'm only one story in so far - so this makes me very excited for the rest!

Pride of the Lampian
Excellent opening to the volume from Alyson Leeds, I really enjoyed seeing Professor Summerfield the expert researcher delving through archives. Reminding us that (as Benny more or less reminds the Doctor) that she is the professional uncoverer of History, doing it slowly and the hard way from (usually) a fixed point in time - while he takes the shortcuts and pops back to see what happened!
I though the gradual too-good-to-be-true 'emergence' of the "Lampian data" from the archives was distinctly creepy and I guess we were all waiting for the moment when they showed up 'for real' and wondering why Benny couldn't see it coming too and then realising she was being led on by the artefact to find what she most wanted; the discovery of a lifetime. But the final reveal that "her" army was just a temporal possibility took me completely by surprise! A possibility that Benny would never accept and make real, of course - as the Doctor said, he was just a safety net.
What a terrific pairing Benny and her Doctor are!

Clear History
I loved this! I enjoyed it as an adventure story, a human drama and a great piece of (virtual) world-building but what really made it stand out for me were the 'system' jokes and references, starting with the title. I thought it was a description - only after a while did I realise it's a command.
Trapping the police bots inside a 'closed partition' in a building was a lovely idea - yes it's a virtual wall in the museum but it's also a real 'walled-off' section of hard disk; the 'recycle bin' limbo worked well, and the line that made me lol was the Administrator's frantic 'I'm not a bug, I'm a feature!' Brilliant.
Halfway through the set and loving the 'Bennyness' of it. And just to show that real-world systems can have a sense of humour and perfect timing, when I switched on my PC to post this, the first thing I saw (and I kid you not!) was a message saying 'The recycle bin is corrupted - do you want to delete it?' Was that a mad Administrator's gleam in my eye as I clicked 'Yes'...?

Is that a suggestion of {Spoiler} The Unbound Time Lords turning up at the end of “Burrowed Time”?

Is that a suggestion of {Spoiler} The Unbound Time Lords turning up at the end of “Burrowed Time”? I took the ending of Vol 5 to mean that {Spoiler} the Time Lords from Benny's universe have tracked them down. I wonder if it will connect to Sam Kisgart's appearance in the final War Master set?

Agree, those chords were straight from {Spoiler} The Organ Of Rassilon (or whatever else it is that plays background music in the Capitol!)
Sent a shiver of anticipation down my spine for Vol 6 - and the rest! Great series

Dead and Breakfast
My favourite of the set! Priceless comedy with 'dear' and 'darling' to begin with (of course they're just your typical married couple oh yes sure they are, brilliant) and who knew the Doctor was such an expert with an ironing board? Naturally, I suppose, he's an all-round genius and now we know that extends to getting the creases just right.
And then as Benny gets out to the dig and the Doctor has time to chat with their unconventional landlady, the darkness creeps in and we find a paranoid, suspicious world in psychic thrall to an alien war criminal (I loved the name 'Queen Zilla', was I the only one who imagined her as Queenzilla, a reptillian monster from outer space? ) And plenty of catacombs full of rats, bats, skulls and darkness as every creepy archaeological adventure should have.
And I liked the human stories running alongside the action mystery - the cop who somehow knew she was doing wrong despite the alien mind control and wanted to change things, the retired cyborg warrior mourning her lost love - and poor Rylan. Finally, it seemed just right that Queen Zilla was defeated by trying to conquer one special mind too far - she could occupy and control a world, but tricked by the Doctor away from her ship's power, she couldn't control Benny!

Burrowed Time
A new twist on 'ghost train', claustrophobic and spooky but also with lighter moments, some great Benny/Doctor one liners {Spoiler} 'Are you all right?' 'Of course not, I'm wearing a train!'
and heart too - a (different) Professor who is very fond of trains and {Spoiler} an intelligent train who is clearly fond of its last passenger.
Another strong entry to finish this impressive and enjoyable volume. If this was something of an experiment by BF (four new writers, each paired with an experienced BF mentor) then I'd say from a listener's viewpoint it's been a total success. I enjoyed all four stories very much and hope to hear more from all the writers in due course. Great work!
Comparing New Benny with New Benny is difficult because her range has so much variation, but I did my best and on balance I'd place Vol 5 tied with Vol 2 (the cracking Sutekh set), just behind the masterpiece which is Vol 4 'Ruler of the Universe'.
Highly recommended, no previous Benny experience required. Jump in and enjoy four adventures with a terrific character in her 21st year on audio - and her cynical, grumpy, warmhearted (shh!, he tries to hide it!) brilliant Unbound Doctor.

A great box set, something about it just felt like a breath of fresh air - presumably the new writers.
Definitely an experiment that worked

This was great, I liked that the stories had to do with archaeology.
Favorite quotes: "Arguing with that man takes planning."
"I can be angry and academically rigorous at the same time"
Wanted to hear more David Warner in general, so now relistening to Shilling and Sixpence.

Pride of the Lampian was terrific. A great character for Bernice and the cynical yet still heroic Warner Doctor we all know and love. I don’t think I would suggest this as a jumping on point though as I do think you need the context from the previous two series. That and those series are just really, really good.

And with ‘Dead and Breakfast’ and ‘Burrowed Time’ now listened to, thus concludes this boxset. What a lovely breath of fresh air this was. Some great stories all done by newcomers who I do hope we’ll see a lot more of down the line. I also like how Warner Doctor’s frosty exterior in this is quite obviously thawing throughout all these stories and his relationship with Benny is very endearing.
I have no idea what the future may hold for Bernice and Warner Doctor after this but I can’t wait to find out.

I think the Unbound sets were a bit too "high concept" to really delve into the Doctor and Benny's relationship, so this set really sticks out to me as the first opportunity where we could really dive into their dynamic, and as a result, it was a lot of fun. I know it's a bit of a cliche, but they really do have that whole "old married couple" thing--and it's impossible for me to imagine Lisa Bowerman and David Warner as anything other than the very best of friends IRL.
I do find it somewhat humorous that almost every commentary track I've listened to has someone bemoan the Bernice Summerfield range's lack of archaeology, while basically every story/set I've yet listened contains at least some archeology, to varying extents. Kinda makes me wonder just how off-the-rails the OG range got.
I'm also very excited for the next set, but am definitely gonna try and put it off for a bit... I enjoy it too much to go through it quickly. But, on the other hand: Narvin.

I just recently redid Pride of the Lampians on a random and it just sets up a great box set of tales with a wonderful New writers bringing in fresh blood to the series to mix with the old. You can really say it to death and I have this was a magical pairing of David and Lisa so much so Lisa’s Doctor for me is no longer Sylvester when I think of Bennie I think of David, great one liners between the couple .I haven’t been disappointed by a story with them together and the latest set Lost in Translation further cements them. For me the are one of the highlights of the extended Universe now that we have lost Jago and Lightfoot banter
