Been listening to the CDs of this pretty fantastic 1976 BBC Radio 6 part serial. It was an outline Holmes had for Doctor Who but never used. On a Scottish Island, two friends, a Doctor and a Scientist, discover genetic engineering of telepaths. As if a Robert Holmes story that was intended to be Doctor Who isn't interesting enough, the two heroes are played by Peter Cushing and Vincent Price! As we know from their film work together and long friendship, their chemstry is fantastic. Only Chris Lee being the villain could improve this. Well recommended and I thought I'd flag it up for people who don't know about it but would like to see hear it for the two legendary leads and of course the "missing Holmes" connection. It's out of print but doesn't go for much second hand on Amazon marketplace and Ebay - check it out! www.amazon.co.uk/Aliens-Mind-Classic-Radio-Sci-Fi/dp/1846071038

I caught it on the radio last time it was on, enjoyed it very much. I had wondered at the time if it had been originally meant for Doctor Who.

I’m not being gripped by the tale, sadly.

I've listened to parts 1-4 (and about half of 5) today, and am enjoying it enough. Like Sir Wearer above though, I'm not really being gripped by it, I'm afraid...
