That was a lot of fun. Always great to hear Suzie Costello. Hopefully we'll get more with her in the not too distant future.

Any good? More comedy or serious drama? Is this more in the style of "Aliens of London" (which I hated) or "Boomtown" (one of my favroite 1st series episodes)? If it is more like Boomtown, I might actually be interested...

Pleasantly surprised by this one. I haaaaaate the Slitheen -- would be happy if their episodes were destroyed and wiped from history -- so I wasn't expecting much. But I was glad to find that I enjoyed this one. As Scott notes in the bonus interview, it's a lovely fusion of 2005 Doctor Who and Torchwood. Both actresses were on top form, the story was tight, the tone has that great feel of two characters stuck together who absolutely don't trust each other, and have every reason not to trust each other.
Good stuff. And more from Indira Varma, please.

Damn, I love both of these actresses, and hearing them together was gorgeous.
Suzy is a terrific character, but it makes you wonder why Jack ever trusted her in the first place. I get that he's a huge optimist, but he's also a usually a little smarter about people. I get why he has the Torchwood team he has. Even Owen, with all his bullshit attitude and heavy handed misogyny, you feel like the core of him is just the opposite. That he's deeply wounded by his loss and uses his asshat-ery to hide that pain. But Suzy? Just the opposite. Uses a show of being helpful to hide her complete selfishness and narcissism. Which makes her fantastic to listen to in these stories.
And I can't say enough about Annette Badland. She takes that evil glee and shines it everywhere. I love that woman in everything I've seen andh eard from her, not to mention the lovely chat we had in the ladies' room at LIWho a few years back. More please!!

Sounds like a close call if you had a chat with Margaret Slitheen in the ladies room, did she have a cold?

Well that was a bit of fun! It's not my favourite Torchwood entry, but there is always room for a well-written drama involving two characters who are constantly trying to kill each other! What is it they they say? What doesn't kill you makes you stronger? Strangely, this shared concern brings these two terrific characters closer together in a strange way. And it works so well because the story has just enough twists to keep things interesting, and the (virtual) two-hander is brilliantly acted - as we might have expected, really - by Indira Varma and Annette Badland. What a terrific double act!

Damn you, dear recommendators above!! I did not want to spend any more money. But this sounds really great (even for a non-Torchwood fan).

Funny to realize that Margaret met Suzie (and Tosh? Can't remember wether they crossed paths in Aliens of London) and learned about Torchwood before actually meeting a pre-immortal and Torchwood member/leader Jack Harkness in Boomtown. Anyway, nice episode yet again. I prefer Moving Target from three years ago but this was really solid as well.

Another enjoyable Torchwood release, honestly these single releases are probably one of the most consistent Big Finish ranges. Suzie gets some more fleshing out and Margaret plays off her wonderfully.
There still is a lot of potential with Suzie. Would be curious to hear her opposite a proper Torchwood team member (which we do get a hint of here briefly) or how/why Jack recruited her for Torchwood in the first place.

I can only agree with the above. Another very enjoyable Torchwood episode. A real pleasure to hear more from these two talented actors and to see how their characters play off each other.
As mentioned above, this “early” period would be a great one to investigate a bit more.
Good work, good people. Another good’un!

I am surprised not more people here are routing for this. I have only just started to dabble in Torchwood and still have not seen the TV show, so I had (and still have) not much clue about who Suzie is (except I gathered that she must be a very morally grey character). However, this is a really fun piece. I was afraid that it would be too much juvenile humor like in Aliens of London, since it has the Slitheen, but as said above, this is is more Boom Town than Aliens of London. I really like Boom Town and I certainly loved the characterization Margret gets there- she becomes a really great character and villain and it is a bit sad that there was not much chance of seeing her again (until now). All in all, this is a good release and the two main characters play off each other wonderfully. It all comes together as a fun romp.

I have been re-watching the Eccleston era after listening to 'Ravagers' After watching the Margaret Blaine TV episode, I was in the mood for a relisten of Sync. I just love how Annette Badland plays Margaret Blaine. That laugh - it just cracks me up I enjoyed this release. Susi Costello and Margaret Blaine pairing was a lot of fun. Would love to hear Margaret Blaine again if the story is right
