Count me too Due to time/budget reasons I rarely venture outside the 8th Doctor range, but I have all the previously released 5/6th Doctor Lost Stories and thoroughly enjoyed the lot of them, very much looking forward to listening to these releases Hmm...I had an inking a revival of this range would have covered the 5th/6th Doctor 20th Anniversary boxset slots, guess I was wrong...wonder if the CD's will have reversible covers to match previous releases in the range? IIRC, wasn't it confirmed that some of the other lost stories were also recorded some months back? (The Children Of January was mentioned I think?)

I think it was mentioned in speculative discussions, I don't think it was ever confirmed. More's the pity!

Ah yes! I remember reading about the evil ...
{Spoiler} Dwarf Mordent, strangely similar to the wonderful Sil.
Needless to say, I'll be getting both of these. I know very little about Nightmare Country, but it will be good finding out!

I too thought these would turn out to count as 5th and 6ths BF 2oth Specials interesting.

Hey - we're FINALLY getting a full-cast 5/Tegan/Turlough story!!! (This is when they suddenly confirm Kamelion again, isn't it? ) Seriously though, both these stories sound pretty cool. Looking forward to November

Another story for the Fifth Doctor, Tegan & Turlough is great. Isn’t the Sixth Doctor’s set rumoured to be 4x60 minute stories with Peri? That’ll be a Short Trip, a Main Range trilogy, The Ultimate Evil and a set for the pair this year!

I really am looking very forward to the revival of this range. So many outlines and scripts still waiting to be adapted, and what excites me the most about the forthcoming two is... The Ultimate Evil!

The thing is, I read the novelisation back 30 years ago and I know it's not very good, but I'm still mega excited about it anyway. Can't quite understand why, but I definitely am!
Maybe it's because Dorney is script editing and it will be improved ... maybe because it will be a brief return trip to my childhood ... don't really know.
I just hope the reversible cover has the same white background as all the other Lost Stories.
I would be interested to read a review of the 5th/6th Lost Stories by Eric Saward to learn what he thought of them. Maybe the new DWM interview will touch on this?

Pre-ordered immediately because I love the Lost Stories range even when the story is a dud (I've got this soft spot for the absurdism of Prison in Space). I know the Ultimate Evil is supposed to be bad.

The Ultimate Evil feels like the one that got away, purely in terms of having been novelised but not adapted thus far. I read it on release, but remember very little about it (what I do seems conflated in my head with Mission to Magnus!) On the other hand, I know nothing about Nightmare Country, but the fact that it's Stephen Gallagher makes me unnecessarily excited!

Well, I am definitely getting the Ultimate Evil. Love 6 and Peri. And just having googled the story for it, it sounds like great fun. {Spoiler} With the Doctor going berserk, this will be a great opportunity for Colin to get us out of the 6th Doctor comfort zone (since he already did rage so well in Project Lazarus...). I think it will be GLORIOUS.

As a few have said, Ultimate Evil is far from my favourite Target book but hopefully the piece works better as a drama than a prose. I listened to Wally's 80s (maybe early 90s) BBC radio sci fi Nightmare World recenty and that was pretty fab.
I'm happy just to see the range rise from the dead honestly. Nightmare Country I have higher hopes for.

Totally tangent here , but over the last few hours when clicking on my "recent posts" link and seeing this in the list, ever single time I totally misread "Nightmare Country" for "Nicholas Courtney" … yeah I guess I'm going blind.

I don't know a whole lot about The Ultimate Evil, and even less about Nightmare Country, so I'm looking forward to hearing these! I'm also glad that this range is getting a revival of sorts, even if it's just a one off for these two releases.

Have to admit that I'm surprised this was announced before the overseas price hike became effective. Like many, I suspected nothing new would be announced and available for order until after the increase was in effect.
