Maybe they're waiting for the neighbours to send them the recording of the phone conversations between Boris and Steve Bannon?! I doubt it. They have video evidence, as the article clearly states.
More interestingly, try this article by Max Hastings: 'I was Boris Johnson’s boss: he is utterly unfit to be prime minister'
Some of the reasons why I don't want to ever vote for him.

It's called topical humour! Seriously though, I didn't read the article but it's obviously more of the let's smear Boris and try and stop him becoming PM stuff, and as I'm in Ireland I don't care either way, as whoever is PM the UK is f***ed unless ye have a general election to change the parliamentary numbers or a second 'Brexit' referendum (or both)! The choice at the moment is Hunt or Boris; I think Boris is much more likely to make such a mess of it that a general election will become inevitable... and to repeat a post I made early on in the Brexit thread, I'll believe Brexit when I see it. So I don't think any of them will deliver Brexit in October.

You, like everyone else, are perfectly entitled to your own beliefs as to why newspapers run stories though.

Yes I admit it wasn't recorded yesterday but it's news today because it sheds light on Boris Johnson who is now a potent PM. So it's relevance is increasingly valid to the public. & unless Bannon is lying about his meeting & dialogues with Johnson it isn't a smear - damage the reputation of (someone) by false accusations; slander

Well, probably. Definitely new Tory leader, though there's a chance he'll face a vote of no confidence to become PM, and a chance he'll lose. Probably won't but...
