I have skimmed this thread very quickly and yet carefully to avoid spoilers and get a feel of the response and the result is...
Oh my credit card! Vols 1-3 of The Time War bundle are downloading even as I type. Thanks all, that's more money this forum has cost me...

And this latest installment is also not too shabby, either.
But I am going to repeat myself in saying that I still think that overall, the Doom Coalition/ Ravenous stories are better.

Yes I got the impression that this is rather good I'm certainly loving the Ravenous arc - I have Doom Coalition too but I'm saving it until after Ravenous completes and I still want more Eight/Liv/Helen, I like that team.

Yes! They are also my absolute favorites- full stop. So I might be a bit biased.

Probably a bit late to put in a request, but I'm really liking the new Counter-Measures covers, and they're reminding me just how much I'm hoping the Movellans get a part in the Time War sometime. Hard to imagine the Daleks getting into that much mischief without the Movellans noticing. Maybe I can hope they'll turn up in Dalek Empire: The Time War?

^ I disagree completely. I really enjoyed State of Bliss, and in no small part because I think that Thakrar has now settled into the role enough that she does it effortlessly and with flair. I never disliked her in previous sets, but I’m really enjoying her so far in this one (I’ve listened to the first two stories). Glad you’re getting more from it than I am. I hoped the story would change my view, but it’s just made me more disinterested in the character. I don’t dislike her, I just find her bland. It’s not a big issue, but as a story that centred around her, my “review” focused on her more. Myself I find her "blandness" a nice counterpoint to well-pitched pithy comments from her, a subtle form of snark... kind of like B7 Avon dialed back a notch or two, which I like.

I'd like to see a Planet of the Ogrons-style retcon for the Movellans. Given they basically wiped the Daleks out in the Dalek-Movellan war, I think it would make sense they were created by the Time Lords given how successful a weapon they turned out to be.

Movellans created by the Time Lords?! Well... I suppose it's better than the 'theory' that the Movellans were created by the Daleks! But either way, I don't want them to be of Time Lord origin either.

Or we accept the “War of rhe Daleks” explanation that the Daleks got information from the future about being wiped out by “The Movellans” and Davros blowing up Skaro so they created the Movellans and a fake Skaro for Davros to blow up.

No! The only thing that I accept about War of the Daleks is that it's badly written rubbish...

Just Finished and what to say? Good set of stories then Michael Jayston an actor i have always admired. He gets a real chance to shine in this as he did in the Bennie box sets. Bliss now is a character in her own right her own personality shining through in these stories . McGann is A Doctor that i cannot seem to hear enough of ,perhaps as i have not been saturated with TV show version of his Doctor. Defintely relisteneable box set and thats what i need

State of Bliss - the worst I've heard for a very long time, I actually can't make it to the end. To me it's all a bit manic, and Rakhee Thakrar makes me feel like I'm constantly gasping for air the way she portrays her character !

Very pleased with the Valeyard story. And what an amazing voice!
And the box set has been a good one, with much more development for Bliss and an interesting variety of Time War tales. Ps. Can we keep Bliss on after the Time War? Could be tricky, but I’m sure there’s a way. It’s Doctor Who after all!
I’m just wondering now, what on earth do they have in store for box 4? And, crucially, will it mark the end of the series? I’m not ready!

Not sure if they’ll use Terry Molloy or if they can somehow obtain the services of Julian Bleach but it would be strange if he didn’t make an appearance.
