Hey everyone,
It approaches (from a distance)! The final series of Dorian Gray. The last tale of Dorian Gray. What do we want to see from such a series?

A bookend to either The Picture of Dorian Gray, This World Our Hell or Shades of Grey. The Devil (played by Richard Franklin) is coming to give Dorian a final reckoning. During his last months/weeks/days/hours, Dorian seeks out the good he's he encountered but not corrupted, a last solace before his long overdue demise. Somehow, at the end, Dorian finds himself in another universe, which eventually leads to his appearance in Shades of Grey from the Legion box set.

Since this is ending the range, a tie-in short story collection exploring what might have happened had Dorian made different decisions would be great. What if he had never sold his soul, living life as a mortal? If some of his encounters turned out differently and people died/not died? A sort of "What is, and what might have been" thing. Dorian's not linked to Doctor Who, so a short story ebook isn't automatically off the table.
The story leading into the big finale could be Dorian finding a diary of a version of him who was never immortal, and reading about things like marriage, career and kids. Would he have become hedonistic without the restorative qualities of the portrait? What happened to the portrait? Kind of This is Your Life, or the Supernatural episode What Is, And What Could Never Be (an amazing episode, season two just before the big All Hell Breaks Loose two part finale, the only two-parter Supernatural has done as of 11.07).

Story idea: Sins of the Father.
Dorian has lived for so long, traveled the four corners of the Earth and affected so many lives, men and woman, sometimes for good, but more often for bad. Some of these encounters have consequences. Consequences Dorian will face...
The basic idea is that Dorian has impregnated many woman, and a force has hunted down and killed these woman and the unborn children. Dorian is now in a situation where he is caught in the same limbo they are, seeing the potential they could of had but can never have. He's never seen people who look like him, and I doubt Dorian would think to use protection during intercourse, so either the children he's sired are few and far between or something (or someone) has been bumping them off. The idea of Dorian siring a child was used in an early story (The Houses in Between), but it offers enough drama and emotion to be the focus of a story.

Personally, I'd love a story related by Dorian where the story itself is a confession to a priest.

Are there supposed to be more upcoming specials or is season 5 really the last thing we will get?

Either way I hope we don't just have 2 more releases of Dorian. I am new to the range but I am really going to miss it. Same thing happened with the Companion Chronicles they announced the ending right when I started getting into them Although I do understand the motive for wanting to end Dorian on a high note.

It wouldn't be the first time they've brought the range back though, they finished it after series 2 and weren't expecting to bring it back ... but they did so there's always hope:). Hopefully they'll never say never because it probably is one of the best things outside of the Who range. Cheers Tony

I did see that in the synopsis but I didn't realize it was set after the events of series 3. I thought it could even be a standalone from before. I always try not to get my hopes up. But great now you got me even more excited.... And trust me I understand that you guys want to go off on a high note. And I completely agree. You should always end with people wanting more but I know I will be definitely wanting more.

Hi Scott Thanks very much for stopping by and putting us straight. It's great to see you here . While bittersweet, there are a lot of people looking forward to seeing where Dorian goes from here. Cheers Tony

Was just thinking on the physical side of things I hope they do something special for the last box set. Something limited and maybe autographed would be especially nice.
I am a DL only customer (except I pick up things occasionally at conventions to get signed) but I would definitely make an exception if they do something special for the last series of Dorian. And it really would be the last chance to do this.

So saw on Twitter that Scott confirmed that Shades of Gray is not part of the same continuity as Confessions I kind of expected this but good to have it confirmed. This basically means of course that the ending of Confessions doesn't have to link to the ending of Shades of Gray. For me that's kind of exciting because the ending can really go anywhere.

I kind of love including it though...it really doesn't HAVE to be contradictory in a supernatural world....

It still fits in with my own head-canon as there's always the possibility of him coming back, no matter how it ends. Remember {Spoiler}the ending for series 2? No-one thought he could back after that ... Series 5 I'd expect to tie up some loose ends, and have some fall out from All Through The HouseCheers Tony

I don't know how it's going to end. It could still end in a similar way to Shades of Gray or maybe it can go in an entirely different direction. I guess that's what exciting for me that now there are actually MORE possibilities.
