A welcome back, after far too long away, to writers Jacqueline Rayner and Stuart Manning. I'm looking forward to hearing more from them again.
I pre-ordered this within 3 minutes of seeing it on the site. Jac Raynor And Stuart Manning. When was the last time we saw Stuart with a writing credit. And on top of that, Nev Fountain writing a story about Peri sending 6 into therapy and he reaches out to Freud? How perfect is that?

I wonder: Is this after Freud's interesting encounter with Jago & Litefoot and the *cough* gentleman in Harris tweed? I'd love the Doctor to namedrop and mention them just to see how well-adjusted Dr. Freud is to his experience...
Nev Fountain stories are too rare and always special and different. This set promises so much.

Probably bit soon to be pre-ordering given my current state of affairs but this is definitely a must-buy for me.

Nev Fountain's story sounds brilliant, though I'm a little surprised this is a boxset and not in the Main Range.

I'd forgotten, but others mentioned that we were promised a special release for each classic Doctor to go with the BF 20th - so this is Sixie's. And it does look special - Jacqueline Rayner is another writer we don't hear from nearly often enough for BF these days. (I'm still in awe of 'Doctor Who and the Pirates', an emotional rollercoaster, outstanding story showing BF at their most adventurous.)

Perhaps it is just me. Looking at the glowing comments on here I suspect it is. But this boxset just seems odd.
Four stories in an hour format, with artwork that mimics the Eighth Doctor and Lucie.
For a boxset I had expected something epic, like a The Last Adventure, or something different, like a Comic Strip adaptation with Peri and Frobisher. Not this.
The Sixth Doctor finding and “rescuing” an older Peri after the Trial of a Time Lord would be a worthy reason for a boxset, especially as the Trial is being released on Blu-ray shortly. Unfortunately Big Finish did that with a trilogy in the monthly range years ago.
Plus I have to say it felt very much business as usual after the first momentous story, not something different.
When this boxset is finally released it will be nearly six years since their previous adventure, so this hardly seems like a fresh jumping on point for listeners as they will effectively be forced to go back and listen to that trilogy.
Perhaps the plan is to put that trilogy on offer when Season 23 is released in September and entice new listeners to preorder this boxset...but August next year still seems like a long wait to me.

All very fair points. I had wondered if this was happening because John Ainsworth had taken over 6 on the Main Range and perhaps he maybe had his own ideas and didn't want to follow up on this particular loose end, so BF were going to continue the story outside the MR?
Six and Peri stories are getting to be like buses. You wait years for another one and then 3 lots come along at once (2019 MR trilogy. a Lost Story and now this boxset).

I just looked at the release schedule...December and next March both look low at the moment.
Big Finish probably have other productions to bolster them, but December for this would have kept it to the Anniversary year and kept it close to the Season 23 hype.
Sorry that’s my last negative comment regarding this release I promise.
The good news it is giving me the excuse to relisten to the Widow’s Assassin and the other stories from that trilogy, however there is no rush...damn that promise didn’t last very long!

You're right. I'd completely forgotten we hadn't seen Six's yet. And it does have a remarkable amount of writing talent.

I preordered this yesterday but it's not showing up in the "ordered but not yet released" section of my account - is this happening to anyone else?

Same, I think it's because the account doesn't repopulate unless you click the 'Rebuild Download List' button on the sidebar. Tapped it a few times and both Warzone/Conversion and Interstitial/Feast of Fear popped up in the Pre-Releases tab, which squares away with my order history, so no harm, no foul.

Eleven days until payday and pre-order a year in advance...or buy it next August. No contest really! 😉 I tend not to preorder now till a month in advance. last year there were so many surprises coming through the door I’d forgotten about. Am being a bit more discerning this year

Am being a bit more discerning this year same here. also had a high value of preorders last time a ‘10% off everything’ happened. Once bitten... I had the anniversary year fever lol am over it now. Plus I found preordering a bit presumptious lol

I felt like The Headless Ones just went on and on. Quite meandering and not all that engaging. The sexism was grating, and the Doctor’s lack of challenging it stuck out after The Lovecraft Invasion, but I liked the framing of it being a journal entry; I wish more was made of that.
