Only 15 days to go! How's everybody doing so far?

Only 15 days to go! How's everybody doing so far? I got carried away and have written about 3,500 words of my first draft. I just need to do an edit sweep (and chop off the excess material) and I think I'm just about ready for submission How about you?

How many scenes and pages does your script cover? At present, at the 3,000 word mark, I'm on Page 20, Scene 9. I'm feeling a bit uncertain about scene lengths at the moment though (what with the suggestion to keep it at no more than four pages each), so that may change once I've done some editing.

Hello again.
Well done Whovitt and Dramaman. Sounds like you're doing well. I'm not! I have an idea but no Synopsis and barely a page of script. All the best with your entries. It looks increasingly likely I will have to sit this one out.
The trouble with the medication I am on is that it surpresses my brain's ability to create. I am not even sure if I will make the deadline for the Paul Spragg ReCollections anthology. It's frustrating but at least there are lots of Divergent Universe forum members giving it a go.
I look forward to hearing how you get on. I also enjoy looking at the work of the talented artists on this forum. Best wishes to you all.

I've got just under 3000 words for the script. Might tweak my synopsis as I've had more ideas as I've been writing. I found that only a couple of my scenes got close to four pages. I'm at 21 pages of script with 10 scenes. Although I may be lacking in scene description and directions.

After ages not being able to turn any of my vague concepts into an actual plot, I wrote an outline today and a few scraps of script. Unfortunately, most of my dialogue is from the latter part of the story and a bit useless unless I actually win. On the bright side, I'm feeling pretty good about this.

I usually like to write opening excerpts after completing synopses, but it shouldn't matter that much if I write the script as I go along?
Hang about, why don't we DM each other by exchanging bits of our submissions?

Great news, guys, we're definitely allowed to add page numbers and character lists to our submissions. Are you simply listing the characters' names or are you giving brief descriptions? The DW Main range scripts i've got barely have a sentance for each character.

Doubt it'll affect the word count of your synopsis and script extract. For me, I'm adding descriptions for the guest characters only, since the BF team already know the two leading protagonists. Do whatever suits you best.

I'm having a go too and really enjoying the process... though nailing the synopsis down is really hard (and I have to stop myself writing the scenes and going back to them, as I could fiddle about with lines of dialogue for ever!). In terms of character lists etc, I'm aping the style of a BF script (Andrew Smith's superb 'Emissary of the Daleks' to be precise), and giving one sentence descriptions of the characters with an indication of age. I'm sure this won't be counted towards the 3000 words of the script! Good luck everyone!

Must say I found the preceeding discussion very impressive - good luck everyone and may the best being win! (DU members preferred, naturally )

My apologies if this is sort of irrelevant to the series, but I would highly recommend reading The Tenth Doctor Adventures Volume 1 PDF scripts to help you get a flavour of how a single 60-minute audio drama is written and formatted; including James Goss's Death and the Queen. PS: The New Adventures of Bernice Summerfield Volume 05: Buried Memories is now available!

In the new stories does Benny have her own TARDIS key? It's up to you. Makes sense either way. If you want her to have one she got it as a gift. Not got one... its lost in a comedy way
