So masterdoctor threw this up as something that'd be fun to try and yeah, I can see how. It's not like BF haven't tinkered with it before in stuff like The Pirates and The Scorchies. But, if you'd be up for it, what sort of story could you think up that they could tell or, alternately (if we open this up more broadly), what show could they adapt? (and let's keep this to something viable: I don't imagine Wicked or Singin' in the Rain are exactly within asking price)

I would be on board with this.
My guess would be that they could do an Original story (no rights and legal stuff to sort out). Or maybe something along the lines of a spoof of something more serious.
They have a quite a few great actors who would make this worthwhile and enjoyable and who would also draw people in.
Heck, I would also enjoy another Doctor Who musical along the lines of Pirates (which I loved).

But I also think McGann has a great voice and after having him sing in the Lucie set, I think it would be a wasted opportunity not to have him sing more often.

Iris! The Musical!
A thrilling, hilarious and totally unbelievable experience with the Trans-Temporal Adventuress of Arias!
Is Iris too sexy for Sixie to handle? Has even Henry Gordon Jago ever clapped his peepers on such an act as Iris?
Has Iris finally met her match in a daring duel of dodgy double-entendres with Captain Jack?
And with Magic Mice infesting the bus, is Panda genuinely stuffed?
Ride the bus! Drink the splishy-splashy! Dodge the hooter-directed punch!
And don't even think of asking for a refund, the money is down the back of the cushions and it's staying there! Weyhhey! It's Iris! The Musical!
(Not suitable for beings under 180. May contain scenes of an extreme comic nature, if the writers can think of any. No gin was harmed in the making of this story. May does contain nuts.)

The Gilbert & Sullivan operas could be good fun, as long as they treat them as lighthearted nonsense.

Ah, my favourite was "Anything Grows" featuring the synthesiser stylings of Chase and the Green Cathedral. Marvellous to see live! So rare is it for an audience to be showered with roses than vice versa. So overwhelmed were they by the performance that they didn't dare risk repeating the experience. The turnover has been extraordinary.

Hello again.
How about Avenue Who?
On Avenue Who monsters and villains live side by side. Their day jobs include enslaving planets, destroying space fleets and devising fiendish plots to try and take over the galaxy. Let's discover more about the inhabitants of Avenue Who?
At number 1 live the Skaro family. They all have serious anger issues. The younger Daleks now have to be home-schooled as they blew Monster Academy up on their first day.
Obviously, Royal Mail refuse to deliver to them. They also have an ongoing feud with the Telos family due to their pet Cybermat, Cybus, stealing bits of their Dalek tech.
Living with the Daleks is their lodger called Davros who can be heard raving about absolute power in their basement.
More silliness on the Avenue Who thread...

David Tennant and John Barrowman can both sing as well. Miranda Raison has sung on telly Who. Catherine Tate sings and plays piano.

Arthur Darvill sang in a starring role on Broadway (and he plays guitar).
And d'oh! Billie Piper can sing!
