Listening to Jago in River 6 really reminded me how i miss my yearly box set. Praternoster just wont cut it. I think Professor Litefoot left a whole lot of money in his will to Jago and Ellie for them to take a holiday together to somewhere haunted and scary especially around Christmas time. Islands are good, fog is good, rain is good snowbound is good. 😉ðŸ˜

No. It was always Jago & Litefoot. It was always about the duo. Trying to carry it on would be a mistake.

I don’t think it would you can’t have Jago and Ellie and not have Litefoot in your mind and if he is integral part of the story then I think it would be beautiful. Who doesn’t reminisce about old friends and Jago and Ellie would reminisce tremendously .I really am all for it and in no way see it as a betrayal of the legacy .

Nobody's suggesting a recast, as that would be disrespectful. But a new Henry and Ellie story with fond mentions of George (for what ever reason used as his absence), would be somewhat charming. Both Henry & Ellie are great characters, it's pity not to hear them again.

Nooooo..... Some things need to end and be left alone......... I can think of better contenders for this than J&L, and those still roll on, and on.

Sometimes there is a natural end to something, this is tidy finished off in the best way they could ...... big finish have often kept things going past there natural end, poor hex should have been left as should Charley, none of these have gone well look at tv who Clara went way way past her sell by date and hampered poor 12th progression ....... Some times were are better off, for what we don’t get that what we do........

While I love your idea of a Victorian Christmas ghost story, I'm not sure that a full cast production would be the way to go with this (if they did). For me the charm of Jago and Litefoot was the chemistry between the two characters and likewise the two main actors. With Trevor no longer with us I have my doubts that Big Finish could capture that lightning in a bottle for a second time if the focus shifted to Jago and Ellie. And as you said, the surviving cast members or the production team might not be keen to go back down that road without Trevor.
But single voice narration..now that could open up a lot of possibilities.. 🙂

There is a chemistry not only between Jago and Litefoot but with Jago and Ellie and Litefoot and Ellie .... but hell yes Jago could narrate MR James but i go out and remember many of my mates who have passed on with others who knew them. Why wouldnt Ellie and Jago ? its not as if you forget about someone and stop being friends just because one of them has passed away. Am sure Jago and Ellie in a fictional universe went out and fondly remembered him many many a time. Anyways it was just a wish.

Am sure Jago and Ellie in a fictional universe went out and fondly remembered him many many a time. Anyways it was just a wish. If I've given the impression that I was trying to shoot your idea down in flames then I apologise, that was not my intention at all. And I totally agree with you about Jago and Ellie. If in their universe Litefoot had passed away then of course they would remember him and of course they would stay close after that. All I am saying is that personally I'm not sure a full cast CD or boxset of Jago and Ellie''s adventures without Litefoot would be the way to go. I could be completely wrong in that opinion - hell, I thought Tales of New Earth was quirky enough to go beyond the one boxset - and if it happened and if it proved successful with the audience then I'd happily (and publicly) eat my words. But if there was a future production then personally I'd hope Big Finish would go down the road of a single narration and follow the path RTD took with Sarah Jane when Lis died - her character didn't die with her, so why should Litefoot?. You could have Christopher reading as both, spinning another yarn to the Club for Curious Scientific Men for example. Or Lisa as Ellie holding court in the Red Tavern, telling the punters about escapades with the Infernal Investigators where she WAS "more than just a bit part and integral and was great". Or Conrad as Insp Quick, explaining to a furious Mrs Quick why he's late home for supper because of some bizarre mystery the Professor and Mr Jago were embroiled in. Or a tale that involved a Victorian Christmas in a haunted house on an Island shrouded in fog / rain / snow... ...and In each and every one George Litefoot and Trevor Baxter could be there, In character and spirit respectively.

We had a number of absolutely wonderful years with the gang that I wouldn't trade for anything, but it's come to its natural end. There's nothing wrong with letting go, moving on, and treasuring good memories.
