After a recent vacation i found the best way to listen to an audio is floating on a large inflatable swan with my I Pad Pro speakers on echoing around the walls of the pool-that isn’t really feasible being back in Scotland 😂although it is 22 degrees today. Normally i do chores while listening and better if i am just going to bed and lying back enjoying planes and train journeys and bus journeys help.
So what do the restof you guys do to get the most out of your listening.?

My most efficient audio listening experience has to be the epic 16 hour (ish) shift in my uni library one weekend to finally break the back of my dissertation data. Got through the entirety of Doom Coalition just to give me something to focus on whilst sifting through information about hundreds of MPs and thousands of Early Day Motions. Got through volumes 1 and 2 on the Saturday and 3 and 4 on the Sunday. It was ruthless, but it got the data done and I got to experience the entire Doom Coalition saga as one long story in two parts effectively.
Normally I just listen late at night lying on a sofa or on a train journey (I have occasionally deliberately chosen slightly longer routes just to have sufficient time to finish a particular audio). Walking’s quite good as well, got through a lot of audios just walking to Tesco and back during my time at university.

I have to be driving or walking, something engages just enough of my brain to keep my mind from wandering.

Shifting through data sound rough lol i would need something to listen to .when I studied i always had to have music in the background.

2 current ways..via my phone to a Kitsound Boombar portable bluetooth speaker, which has a surprisingly rich sound, or through my nice Veho ear goggles.
If I surf the net whilst listening (like right now) I tend to miss chunks of the story. I get the most out of them when I'm just led on my bed, dressing gown on. Rock and roll and all that. I do often nod off though...

Most of the time I just listen in bed. I'm not terribly good at splitting my focus so if I'm actively doing something else, I tend to miss things. Though lately, I've done a lot of my listening during the day while playing Gran Turismo, which is just enough on autopilot for my brain that I can still concentrate on the story.

Taking a walk in the park/ forest. Huddling up with a cup of tea and a blanky and giving it my full attention (favored option for especially anticipated things). More often than not, listening to it in bed since I have been trained since childhood that listening to audios is a great way to fall asleep. Very often I fall asleep, if I am not totally involved in the story or if the story is very upsetting. Then it keeps me awake. Either way, not ideal, but best I can do most days. When I was still working on my Doctorate, and had to sit in front of the microscope for hours on end, I went through weeks and weeks worth of audio books. I really enjoyed that work and the audio kept my brain from becoming completely brain dead.

I have to say I have also reached a point we’re the tv is rarely switched on now apart from the news. There’s such a wealth of audio I enjoy not just BF that I would much rather sit back and enjoy I do also enjoy listening and jotting things in my two volumehooedull soon to be 3 big finish xomoanion(writing in a book sacrilege to some lol)

One of the best things that I do to listen to audios is to do collectibles/grindy actions in games. That way my physical body is occupied by an action while my brain focuses ion the story.

Relaxing in a comfy chair late in the evening sipping a single malt whiskey with my headphones on gives me my best listening experience.*
*(Tullamore D.E.W. is the whiskey and Onkyo make the headphones... the latter is more important to me than the former for my BF listening, but both together work very well.)

Strip. Cover my body in warm essential oils. Lower the lights. Drink a mix of 250ml vodka, 250ml gin & 500ml Irn-Bru.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

My most common listening choices that allow me to get the most out of a story:
-During a commute (I can usually give it full attention then) -Doing basic chores like laundry, cooking, yard work -Laying in bed or on the couch (I do one of these for the highly anticipated audios. I turn the lights out and totally focus.) -Painting miniatures -Exercising
Usually if it's an unheard audio, I focus in on it on the couch, but if it's a re-listen, I will have something else like chores or exercises going. I pretty much always have headphones in my ears if I can manage it. I try not to listen to anything new if it's late at night or I had a long day because I may fall asleep and lose my place. I tend to do this thing where I think I'm awake enough to keep listening, but then in the morning I can't remember the story at all.

I do my listening 1) on the bus to work 2) when i go for my hike up Mt Barker Summit 3) but best experience, where i concentrate the best, is sitting right at my hifi speakers doing nothing else but immerse into the audio. I follow the stories the best in this way
