1)Didn’t know where he would end up. I think we have too much Tardis control. We know in the middle of a serious escapade, life threatening thing the Doctor can say “hey lets leave that for a minute we have a Time machine lets go and have an adventure and come back to it later” Ok we know the Doctor isnt going to die,but its a bit presumptious of him, when the universe is in peril and he doesnt immediately follow it through.Get back to a time when he least had an excuse wether it be amnesia or just-being a poor pilot.
what are your pet peeves?

1. The Obvious
2. Wasn't just a Park and Ride for the Companions (if you get the choice to travel in the TARDIS You Stay traveling in the TARDIS. Don't treat it like a Weekend getaway.)

I do not like the Doctor as "Space Jesus" as he is shown quite often in NuWho.
He is as fallible as everyone else, with huge flaws and faults.
For me, the stories where he is just a pawn in a bigger game and relying on his wits to weasel out of situations are the best. Also, I enjoy the character most when he is shown as a more grey ambiguous guy, not the white knight in shining armour. One reason I like Dark Eyes more than quite a few of the TV episodes.
Nothing is more boring than a perfect hero.
And I agree with causality, adding some randomness to the steering of the TARDIS certainly adds some spice.

Wasn't bigger than The Time Lords. I missed the days when they had some power over The Doctor, like controlling the TARDIS in Colony in Space, for example.

Nothing is more boring than a perfect hero. Well, I think The Doctor will always be very quirky, and perhaps sometimes a bit curmudgeonly. :-)

One would hope that after what....about 1,500 years in the TARDIS the Doctor would learn how to actually fly the old girl, right?

The 7th Doctor doesn't seem to have much trouble flying the TARDIS. So it's not the whole of classic Who.
I didn't mind Amy and Rory popping home and getting picked up the whole time because they become the Doctor's family, along with River.
It was slightly more annoying with Clara, because you have to keep giving companions mad reasons to never see the Doctor again.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

I miss the days when the Doctor brought down tyrants or bad governments nearly every week. It still happens but I don’t think it’s as often as it used to be.

One would hope that after what....about 1,500 years in the TARDIS the Doctor would learn how to actually fly the old girl, right? There's a nice little idea floating around in one of the Sixth Doctor comics about that. The Doctor does has a fair degree of control over by that point, but the TARDIS herself doesn't always do as instructed. As the Fifth Doctor said, she's more like a person than a straightforward machine. Sometimes, based on external data that its pilot is otherwise unaware of, she resets the assigned coordinates and chooses to land elsewhere. (There's also this interesting theory that the Doctor's subconscious plays a part in choosing destinations based on the telepathic circuits, but that's a whole other kettle of gumblejack...)

This would be great material to explore further. As we have seen in the Kingmaker, {Spoiler} when the Doctor is drunk, his telepathic control becomes complete gibberish.Maybe the reason we do not see him drunk very often.
For example.
It would be a great idea for a) a villain to exploit in planting maybe subconscious suggestions- maybe something along the lines of Inception?
or b) in general exploring the subconscious of the Doctor a bit more.

There's definitely always more room to explore, but I think you'd love Timewyrm: Revelation. It's all about exploring the inner workings of the Doctor's mind as its taken over by a hostile intelligence. The NAs did its fair share of dabbling in that area, come to think of it. A large chunk of Lungbarrow only happened because the Doctor's dreams and anxieties actually bled over into his companion, Chris. It kind of makes me wonder how much of what happened in The Edge of Destruction was unknowingly from the TARDIS and how much was unknowingly from its occupants.
