Was looking for something a wee bit different and GLUTAMODO recommended this production. Juggled a bit with amazon to find them on Audio CD but managed it Drama set during The French Indian Wars (Think last of the Mohicans) Childhood loves for these type of adventure stories has been reignited. They are available for Download i also discovered via Apple Books too.
Production values are top Notch-Perhaps Big Finish can catch up on these genres but hey competition is good for the soul of a company

Ticonderoga-doesn’t hold back on the gruesome deeds and atrocities committed by both sides. There is a lot of love in this production,a lot of thought and a lot of respect for the subject matter. Its very much a history lesson and a great piece of drama at the same time.

And still continuing part 1 and what an absolutely brilliant adventure it is ,don’t think I’ve enjoyed an historical audio this much in ages. It’s all the boys own adventure stories rolled into one.Native American raids,French and English soldiering, pioneers, settlers in peril, the odd bit of savagery, canoeing down rapids, musket firing, climbing mountains seizing of forts, campfire tales...and a great big old history lesson to boot.
great stuff really...though some of the Scottish accents are to put it politely a bit crap but cannot have it all

Well i have to say this was a great bedtime experience-cannot sing its praises enough. Now i just await the Season 1 set to arrive from the states. Do not ask me why they didnt call the previous 9 hour saga Season 1-but they didnt.

Now onto
Ticonderoga-Season 1
This continues along from the original epic saga and is more episodic in nature but continues to be very good with more regular characters . Good sunday listening

hey Causality, missed that you created a thread just for this title! Good job.
I really liked this, I had listened to it some time back, and when you expressed interest in something similar I had to speak up.
They have buttoned off (finished) this series, and the episodic version is a bit less gritty than the original saga (it veers away from historical drama and into speculative sit-com territory), but I still liked listening to it.
I think at least one link to them should be in this thread... do note that they mislabel the final entry, or go with it, the final installment is supposed to be Series 3, not Series 2 part 3, either way it's still in the same place of chronology.

Actually enjoying the episodic nature too. The Original run was a more epic story Ticonderoga -THE MOVIE so to speak.I think the episodic ones work too and the accents have much improved. I would very much recommend it to folks wanting an non sci fi escapade. so very much appreciate the recommendation

I noticed season 1 was divided into Volume 1 and volume 2 happily i seem to have a combined volume that includes both seasons on MP3

Good deal then!
I mentioned elsewhere how I rather lucked out when I bought the original saga...
One aside - maybe not exactly the right place to mention this, but since it looks like this is mostly you and me talking here, I mentioned the Dibble series and you thought you might look into it. I never elaborated on it... that series is pure sitcom gold, and features normally-deadpan Jerry Robbins playing a horrible over-the-top self centered arse as Dibble, a character that you might think would be "love to hate" but he is not worth that effort. He's just an insufferable git but not so horrible that you hate him, but you are totally happy to have bad things happen to him.

No i havent forgotten have been buying what i can get reasonable i have five seasons of Powder river and as i said before i loved and got the cd version of Martian Chronicles cannot get their version of Ray Bradburys something wicked which i have as a download. But i came across Logans Run which i have purchased and am very much looking forward too and see that i has a sequel.also managed to get four seasons of Jarrem Lee which despite some accent problems i bloody enjoy..so basically your suggestion has left me all the poorer hahah and Dibble is on the list when i see it 😂

I did not know that it was that hard to find. I hesitate to comment further on the series lest I spoil anything, but will say that I was aware that Dibble was an ongoing, evolving concern for CRT and was somewhat refined by the time the New Dibble Show came out.

I don't know what was released on disc/download for home listeners, but I think as far as radio shows produced, there was such. It's been a while since I listened through all the CRT podcasts (there's a lot of them too, but they are buried on the CRT site and some of them require extra finesse to acquire) but somewhere in them they give background to that series.

This Volume 1 is actually very witty. It arrived this morning. I actually find it amazing that this is the same guy from Ticonderoga and Powder he is quite versatile and unlike Briggs sounds different in each one. Full of eccentric characters and you are right you can love to hate Dibble.Good call mate .Thanks

Yeah, Jerry must like, swallow his Adam's Apple or something, to come up with that Dibble voice!
Glad you liked it, man!
I've only bought partway into that series thus far (downloads) but I intend to get them all at some point.
Back to Ticonderoga (thread title and all that)... are you, or have you, bought through that series? I've jumped on the episodic seasons as they came out and was sad when they said it was over.
