Also note: The bonus section in the side-menu will only list bonus content that is downloaded to your device. To download it in the first place, you have to go to the release and in its details page will be a tab called bonus. The bonus tab within the release was nowhere to be found. But the bonus menu item (as well as Vortex and Latest Releases) were there in all their glory. Ended up deleting the app and reinstalling... And lo! The tab appeared! Downloading extra content as I write this. Thanks again hackmodford for all of your work on this app. It makes listening to Big Finish even more of a delight!

Future update request...for some future release, could we please get the number sorting (for the Doctor numbers) fixed? This may actually be website-related, as it coincided with the website update, but it's a bit counterintuitive that the Doctors are not in order, but rather alphabetized by letter.
Right at the moment under Ranges:
Doctor Who - The Companion Chronicles Doctor Who - The Doctor Chronicles Doctor Who - The Early Adventures Doctor Who - The Eighth Doctor Adventures Doctor Who - The Fifth Doctor Adventures Doctor Who - The First Doctor Adventures Doctor Who - The Fourth Doctor Adventures Doctor Who - The Lost Stories Doctor Who - The Monthly Adventures Doctor Who - The New Adventures of Bernice Summerfield Doctor Who - The Seventh Doctor Adventures Doctor Who - The Sixth Doctor Adventures Doctor Who - The Stageplays Doctor Who - The Tenth Doctor Adventures Doctor Who - The War Doctor
Moaning aside - I'm quite pleased with all the changes in this update. Thank you, and great work!

I think my favorite part of this new update is finally being able to access the bonus material! It's been fun to discover/rediscover things that were off my radar - random things like the "movie" from the Doctor's DVD commentary in the fourth chapter of "Demons of Red Lodge" or subscriber Short Trips that I hadn't realized I'd owned!
Android users - does anyone else experience the app randomly opening up again after it's been closed? The previous version would actually start playing (incredibly embarrassing when it happened during a work meeting!) unless I forced a close through Settings. This one hasn't started playing, but the player controls will randomly pop up on the lock screen even after I've dismissed the app. None of my other audio apps do that, so it seemed odd. I've gotten into the habit of forcing the BF app to close just in case it decided to fire up while I was in the middle of a presentation!

Sometimes I would be listening to a different audio app (Spotify for example) and the controls for the BF app would pop up and though the BF app itself wouldn't start playing, it would pause the other app. For me this hasn't happened in a bit... Maybe an update fixed it for me? Grateful it seems to have stopped though.

Are you talking about playing audio, then pausing, then closing the app out of the task switcher? If you do that does the player notification re-appear?

Are you talking about playing audio, then pausing, then closing the app out of the task switcher? If you do that does the player notification re-appear? Yes and yes. The previous version of the app would randomly start playing well after I'd closed it with the task switcher (having your phone go off at work with anything but an alert tone is bad enough, but out-of-context sci-fi audio drama excerpts at full volume are surprisingly extra-embarrassing )! That got me in the habit of force-closing the app via settings.
The newest version will have the player notification (and control bar on the lockscreen) still pop up randomly, but I haven't been brave enough to see if it'll suddenly start playing as well, so I got back into forcing the close.

Hackmodford - does the latest version have the option to store the download on a memory (SD) card?

Loved the app since launch but something is happening with it now that it hadn't previously done.
I've got the Android App at the moment.
If I'm listening but using another app which then overtakes the audio (ie videos on Facebook or Twitter) the app doesn't always revert to where you were last listening, but to where you last stopped it manually in the app. Anyone else have that issue?

I had one user report this issue. They were using a Samsung phone. It seems that Samsung has a battery optimization feature that can kill apps. When they disabled that feature for the BF app it solved the problem.
I shared this post with them (not sure how helpful it actually is)

Hackmodford, here's one for you. Over the last week I've been downloading The Genocide Machine every day because it keeps disappearing!
Now don't get me wrong it isn't the end of the world because I've heard it loads, but it would be nice if it stayed put.

What version of the app are you using? 2.5.2 (20173) I think. And it still keeps disappearing but I can play it straight after download.

I think this is a database issue. My guess is the app downloads the story, but then fails to save it to the database. So when you restart the app it's gone (even though it is technically downloaded onto your device). If it's not too much trouble, could you delete the app and reinstall. (You will have to re-download everything you want again.) This will rebuild the internal database and should clear up the issue.

Question for the group. I use the app on an iPhone and love it. However when I am driving I would like to be able to speak to Siri to control it. I can get Siri to open the app, but Siri doesn’t seem to (it I am not using the right verbal string to) allow me to say “play doctor who dark universe”. Am I missing something?

My chief frustration these days is that, since the last update (iOS), whenever you switch out of the app for a couple of minutes, or lock your phone while the app is minimized, when you pop it open again it defaults to the Big Finish splash screen instead of back to the playback screen where I left it. It’s a small thing, but it’s annoying.
