Well, the first track of Doom Coalition did play on the app, even though the download size was listed as zero. I scrolled further down my list and saw a couple of others that said 0, but haven't tried downloading them.
I usually listen to stories on my iPod, though. And will continue to do so for as long as the iPod continues to function. (It's a very old iPod Nano.)
I used Goodreader on a trip cause I was out of town without my computer and wanted to download and listen to stories on my iPad.

FWIW, the last time I used the Big Finish app it crashed, so I haven't used it since. The sorting of titles, or lack of it, annoyed me no end too. I am sure BF will continue to improve their app over time though, so I will probably try it again one day after an update or two. But [on Android] the Smart Audiobook Player app works so much better for me, so I don't bother with a buggy app when another one works fine.

Hasn't crashed for me on iOS, the few times I've used it. Currently the titles are arranged alphabetically. Which at least makes it possible to find things by name, but it's a lot of scrolling if the first letter of the title is toward the end of the alphabet.

Which at least makes it possible to find things by name, but it's a lot of scrolling if the first letter of the title is toward the end of the alphabet. It used to crash occasionally but now it rarely ever does. But the sorting of the titles could be easier. They are in alphabetical order but "The" is counted as the first word and since the majority of titles start with The there is definitely a lot of scrolling. It would certainly be nice if they added a search feature or if you could arrange titles by range. It's usable as it is now but that is one improvement I would like. Also sometimes I think it skips tracks on occasion. I am not 100% sure as I listen at work and it's possible my mind just wanders and I miss things. But I think I have come across times the app skips over a track. It doesn't happen too often to be a detriment to my enjoyment and I personally don't mind going back.

So I tried the Goodreader app again today, and this time it worked for me. I downloaded the latest Torchwood release onto my iPad and all the mp3 tracks are there.

Elaeg can you give a step by step on using GoodReader for this task. I have tried and failed. Thanks! Did you ever figure out how to download a story using GoodReader? It's working for me, now. When I open the app, I click on the Globe icon on the right and click on "Browse the web." - Enter Bigfinish.com in the search bar. - Log in with your account name. - Click "Follow the Link" on the pop-up box that appears. (The other option is "Download Linked File" - you won't click on that till you get to the selection you wish to download.) - Select the release you wish to download and click the download link on your account page. This time you will select "Download the linked file" on the pop-up box. - You should get a message in a new pop-up box: "Downloading has started. Check 'Downloads' list on the 'Connect' control panel. Interface may freeze for a while when downloading." Click "OK." - After that, I click on "Documents" in the upper left of the app. You should have a folder there called "Downloads". - Open the "Downloads folder and you should see the zip file of the release you downloaded (when it's done downloading). If it's a large download, you may see the progress of the download on the right. - When you tap the zip file, it will ask you if you want to unzip. Click OK and it should start unarchiving. - You should end up with a folder containing your downloaded audio story. You can play it right in the app.

The new app is out for IOS. Immediate improvements I see:
* Ability to Search & Filter releases * Ability to DL more than one title at once
Apparently the new app also saves your spot but I haven't tested that yet.
Edit: You can also see the individual disc art work

I made the last app work for me and while not perfect I still preferred it to downloading to computer, importing to iTunes and then syncing on my phone. However this new app is definitely a vast improvement

I came to tolerate the old version, and it seemed to become more reliable with age, but I'd always prefer to use Undulib if possible. The new version has me seriously thinking about no longer managing my Big Finish library through iTunes (though I'll still download everything to the computer for backup purposes).
More thoughts to follow... (Is this an appropriate place to get bug reports/comments/suggestions noticed? Is hackmodford the person to talk to and is he watching?)

Let me know what you guys think and what could be improved. More importantly though, I think you should use that contact button in the app so that Big Finish can actually see your ideas. I don't know if employees really frequent these forums. Basically, assume anything that is mentioned here is only seen by me.

I am really pleased with this, so a few quick notes. Bug report: with Allow Cellular Downloads turned off (surely this should be the default?), I'm getting the "Warning: You are on a cellular network. Are you sure..." dialogue box even when connected to WiFi. Interface issue: Can we have the alphabetical filter ignore "The" at the start of titles? Feature request: Automatic downloading of pre-orders as they become available (yes, I'm asking Big Finish to set up a DDOS attack on their own servers ). Support for the Big Finish podcast.

First, a hearty thanks to all who were involved in making this app possible, both from the technical side and the administrative side.
As an iPhone user, the biggest pain when it came to Big Finish was not a lack of great content, but the downloading of it, getting it into iTunes, fighting to sync it from iTunes to my phone (which seemed to work differently every !?@&$& time.)
Now all of that is gone. I can just press a button, get the Big Finish content on my phone and head out of the house. I am beyond thrilled.
Things that I think would make the app spectacular:
1. Adjust the app to move articles (A, An, The) to the rear of each audio's title.
2. Adjust the app to deal with longer titles. I could see how it could easily become confusing, when you look for example at the two war doctor releases which both show as "The War Doctor Vol..." or Counter-Measures which all show as "Counter-Measures S..."
3. I noticed when downloading four or five titles at once, that when I clicked away from the app for awhile and came back, it had stopped downloading the items. I am not sure how to quickly reproduce this. But probably has to deal with the iOS Background App Refresh. Knowing the problem, I can remedy it by not browsing away, but this may throw some folks. Dropbox app for example if you are using the camera roll upload will throw up a banner message after a few that says uploading will be paused if you don't browse back to the app soon.
4. On the "it would be nice but not really necessary" list, would be cool to be able to click on an audio (before I download it from the cloud) and see a pane pop up with the content showing the audio's description from the BF website.
And finally two items for in the future....
5. Some way to play/pause/rewind/ffw audio in Landscape mode. My iPhone is always on its side in the car when I drive.
6. One day I hope to get a car radio that has Apple CarPlay built in. Hopefully if I ever manage to, this app will also be CarPlay enabled :-) (PS Might take me awhile to get the radio, so no hurry lol).
Much thanks to all!!! You made my month!

Are you involved with the Android development too? Cheers Tony

I've got over 300 titles in my download library, so being able to cut down the title's I'll have to scroll through to find a specific one or browse for will be a godsend.

I can only echo what others have said and say that this is a such a huge improvement over the previous version of the app. As stated above, the search, filter and indeed sort abilities are invaluable for large collections.
I was trying this out yesterday and already being familiar with the excellent Undulib app, I recognised most of the other features. But I think this has already become my default method for listening to Big Finish stuff, avoiding all that pesky downloading separately and syncing to iTunes/Undulib nonsense!!
I know it's early days for this app, but it would be nice to be able to access the audiobook info/description as mentioned above somehow. Also, I tried to AirPlay via my Apple TV but it would only work by "mirroring" the device.
All in all, these are just minor issues as what was, to be honest, a bit of a rubbish app is now a great one. Well done hackmodford!!

AirPlay should work out of the box. I don't really have a lot of control though... All I can do is just provide the button and Apple does the rest. Do you have any other AirPlay devices to test it with?
