House by the Sea is a standout for me too. I ended up picking up Haunted Memories and Lovers’ Refrain as expected. Gonna keep passing on T&C Mysteries I think. I find even in the ‘main range’ my attention tends to drift when stories aren’t actually set in Collinsport, so I think I’d probably struggle with them. That's an amazing one. Pretty much the whole story is 1 person (Colin Baker) yet it seems like a full cast audio. :-)

What are some good suggestions? I have only heard Beyond The Grave. I think it's hard to go wrong as they're all very good, but some of my favorites are The Flip Side, London's Burning, The Crimson Pearl, The Curse of Shurafa, Kingdom of the Dead, Blood & Fire, Bloodlust, Bloodline, and The House By The Sea. Also Dreams of Long Ago - Matthew Waterhouse's story Old Acquaintances has to be one of the very best stories in the range. Kingdom of the Dead is quite a steal considering what it originally cost back when I bought it and David Warner is brilliant. You might also consider one or two the earlier Tony & Cassandra stories and see what you think of them. If they suit you, there's a treasure trove of Tony & Cassandra to be had with their box sets. I think The Death Mask is the earliest one, followed by The Voodoo Amulet.

Come to think of it, they're about giving away the first season, too - The House of Despair, The Book of Temptation, The Christmas Presence, and The Rage Beneath. The Ghost Watcher might be another good one for someone to try who's new to the range? Very memorable story.
If you're a Doctor Who fan, by the way, a number of DW cast have made appearances in Dark Shadows besides Colin Baker in The House By The Sea and The Harvest of Souls and Matthew Waterhouse in The Creeping Fog, Blood & Fire, and others - Sarah Sutton in The Devil Cat, Louise Jameson in London's Burning, Nicola Bryant in The Blind Painter, Daphne Ashbrook in The Book of Temptation, and probably some more that I'm forgetting.

Belatedly popping in to say that I ended up getting Tony & Cassandra series 2 in this sale. And I also got In The Twinkling of an Eye, because I had it on a "to buy" list, though I no longer remember why.

I really liked the way In The Twinkling of an Eye sort of sneaks up behind you when you least expect it, that seems like a wonderfully appropriate thing for the occasional horror story to do. I'd almost forgotten it was a horror story by the time I got to the creepy bits. Talk about being lulled into a false sense of security. :-)
