I am surprised there hasn’t been any speculation on Nick Brigg’s comments in the latest Vortex.
He said...
The whole Unbound thing is rather fascinating, it’s something I’ve been thinking about quite seriously recently.
I suppose that with the Warner Doctor continuing to have adventures, the BBC are more receptive to the idea of non TV Doctors appearing on audio.
In the past I have suggested a Doctor of Portent for the Time War and a younger War Doctor has been proposed also. I am under the impression that simply anything would be possible with the Time War.
So what do you think Nick is thinking!?
Could we get more alternative iterations of our favourite Time Lord?

Maybe along the lines of the DC comics Elseworlds stuff?

Wasn't there a tease that he is going to meet the Timelords next?
As for alternative Doctors... the possibilities are endless. However, I am not sure the BBC would approve of another female Doctor at the moment and that is not only because of the poor track record BF has there... that might be seen as too much into TV territory. So maybe we see another male alternative version. Wouldn't it be great to have, for example, one of the Master actors play the Doctor?

Well they did have Benny point out that the prime universe’s Time Lords are still alive in Pride of the Lampian and at the very end of Burrowed Time there was a particularly ominous sound effect playing as they discussed whether there will be any consequences of the Unbound Doctor being in the prime universe... Big Finish does some to be more interested in exploring the Who multiverse these days, what with The Dimension Cannon, the Unbound Doctor and Benny storyline and the Unbound Master meeting the War Master. I’d certainly be interested in more Unbounds, there’s definitely a lot of opportunities for alternate takes on stories.

We might even see something along these lines in the next Time War set, with Bliss and the Doctor going after the Dalek Time strategist...
I am still waiting for Davros to turn up in the Time War... It might depend what they are going to do with the next War Master set, as it looks as if the Master is meddling with the Kaled past there...

I’d certainly be interested in an alternative Time War where the Eighth Doctor is the one to say No More!
How would he bring about the Time Lords and the Daleks mutual destruction. Would he use the Moment and if so what form would the Moment take?
Could the Eighth Doctor regenerate at the end of all that and a new line of Doctors be created....
...perhaps Big Finish do not believe they will be able to secure the services of the NuWho actors in the future.
No I am not being serious about an alternative lineage following the Eighth Doctor, but now I think about it how about the Fourth Doctor being pulled into the Time War and following his resolution to that conflict have an alternative timeline with alternative stories from the JNT era with a new Fifth Doctor?

What if the Doctor regenerated into a none human form. How about if the Doctor was a dog!? Obviously a talking dog, but a dog nonetheless.

However, I do not think this is going to happen. Even having the Doctor as a non-humanoid alien would be pushing it and be pretty experimental. However, I really hope we get to see more of Doctor Ogron.

It is difficult to think what unbound concepts they can do that they couldn’t within the main universe. And I agree we need more Doctor Ogron!

It is difficult to think what unbound concepts they can do that they couldn’t within the main universe. The Adventures of the Peter Cushing Doctor. Doctor Davros - A universe in which Skaro is home to the Time Lords. Doctor Who meets Yoda. Doctor Who: Time Lord of Steel - Baby Kal-El's spaceship crashes on Gallifrey & he is raised by the Time Lords. CyberWho - Mondas home of the Time Lords.

A younger war doctor is something I'm very interested in. Less so as an unbound story, but as I really like his character and a few short trips here and there with ideally a bit more focus on the high concept sci-fi aspect of the time war would be something I'd love! In terms of what Nick's thinking, something along the lines of spiral scratch with alternate universe doctors?

I would rather have WarnerDoc meet up with one Our Doctors than some Time Lord thing. Now, one issue I've had with the Time War and Gallifrey "going away" is the concept that the Time Lord TT Capsules have a space-time anchor with the Eye of Harmony on Gallifrey. Remove that, and how does the TARDIS function? (Well, I guess Doctor Who is rather based on the fact that his TARDIS doesn't function very well)
Anyhow, bring WarnerDoc's TARDIS into this universe... how does that link up with the EOH, and oh, what about the Matrix???
Okay, I think the Time Lords can't help but notice him... ! Okay then, send Narvin out to investigate!! lol
But I'd rather have Benny and Warner encounter one of Our Universe's Doctors.
A small aside... Warner is supposed to be an alternate 3rd Doctor, right? Just two days ago I listened to the final installment in the latest First Doctor Companion Chronicles box set, and in it, {Spoiler} David Warner played a befuddled person who was asked his age, he said "Eight" and at that point, I wondered if it was the Warner Doctor, and he was stating his incarnation, because I don't recall it ever being specifically stated that WarnerDoc was definitively an alternative Three. That did not turn out to be the case, he really was eight years old but time warped into an old man, but still...

What if the Doctor regenerated into a none human form. Unbound Imaginings volume 1 has him as a Silurian (a cave dweller with three eyes). He wears a kilt.

I'm going to leave these riiiiight here...We got a lot of good entries for an alternate exploration of Genesis of the Daleks, including the Master, the Fifth Doctor, the Monk, the Rani, the First Doctor, and an easter egg story with an interesting twist on the Fourth Doctor. Wordsmiths have definitely got plans to make a second volume of Unbound Imaginings. Mainly, because there's been just so much interest in exploring it. More than a few authors have been really enthusiastic about letting loose on these gnarled unexplored hollows in space and time.
