sorry, not buying prisoner, is anyone?. Not me anyway... but to be fair I'm sure a lot of people are. I hope so, in so much of BF seem to have sunk a lot of time and resources into that series, but none of them appear to be here on this forum. Not sure what that means. 1) It's not selling well 2) It's selling well and Prisoner audio fans hang out elsewhere 3) It's selling well and Prisoner audio fans don't feel the need to chat to other fans... Eh... just realised this post is about as off topic from the OP as it gets.

DE3 was my favourite of the 4 series and I would love a sequel too, but can't see how it would ever be done with Mr Tennant. Given he is so busy and has very limited availability for BF, it makes more sense for them to use him as the Tenth Doctor in whatever time they have him rather than employ him as Galanar. I hope the above is wrong and I end up eating those words, but I can't see how it would make commercial sense for BF to get Tennant in the studio and then not use him as the Doctor. Having said that I would take a DE3 sequel without Tennant, but it would feel as if it was lacking something has anyone ever asked Tennant, if he would like to return and reprise his role? That you know of? Not that I know of, but Big Finish (I think it was Nick) asked David Tennant if he would like to reprise a different Big Finish role (Luthor Arkwright) but David declined saying he wanted to focus any future Big Finish work on a certain other character (Second set of 3 adventures due later this year)

Betcha the subtitle for any Dalek Empire V will be 'Time War'. That sounds pretty appropriate somehow. It certainly could give an extra dimension to Big Finish's other Time War efforts. I'm sure I'd want to pre-order it on short notice - I really enjoyed the whole Dalek Empire series, but I'd be especially curious to see what the series could do with the Time War.

You mean the Dalek War described in Dalek Empire? I would not at all make the assumption that the Doctor wasn't born.
Not at all clear when the timing was or why the Doctor wasn't around.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

We know they get created... maybe the Doctor is a bit rubbish at what he does in this one...

Could be.. but then there is a reference of {Spoiler} Eighth doctor meeting Kalendorf in Museum Peace and also recognising him - now what does that imply to his whereabouts during the war?

Could still be an alternate timeline that was wiped out during the Time War or one that was timelocked. The Daleks don't have any qualms about talking to alternate versions of themselves in this series, so there may have been a lot of that sort of thing going on.

Yes the one in Dalek Empire. There are references to the dalek war preparations in the MR Dalek Empire arc starting with The Genocide Machine and ending with Time of the daleks as well. If it is the same Dalek war, then maybe Dalek Empire happens after Time of the daleks or probably in a parallel timeline. Which again leaves the question unanswered - where was the doctor?

The Doctor is only one man, he can't be everywhere, he could have been off fighting Cyberman or Sontarans at the other end of the Universe... or something.

The Seventh Doctor met Kalendorf & Susan Mendes in Return of the Daleks, so he had knowledge of the war and it's outcome. He was either too busy to get involved or he just chose not to, bar his input in Return of the Daleks.

Return of the Daleks is a nice addition to the Dalek Empire series, although it is not necessary listening to enjoy the series. It's more a side-step than anything else. Personally I prefer to have no Doctor involved in those Dalek Empire stories, which were excellent - he never appeared in the TV21 Daleks comic strips either and they were great too - so I am not one of those that believes the Doctor has to be in everything. For me the Daleks are interesting enough on their own... although Return of the Daleks is definitely worth a listen. As for the Time War; there are always two sides to any war or conflict, so a Time War based series from the Daleks point of view would be very entertaining. We have heard about how destructive the Daleks were during the Time War, let's hear some of it from their side, with plenty of exterminating!

I'm going to be That Guy.
I don't like the Daleks. I like the Daleks even less when Nick brings out his Dalek action figures.

That said... Dalek Empire certainly is good, but it's at its best when the shadow of the Daleks looms over the story, rather than the Daleks showing front and center. When the Daleks show up, the series just takes a big ol' nosedive for me.

In my defense, when there've been three actual Neo-Nazi rallies a few hours from me in the span of a couple months, cyborg octopus Nazis are a lot less terrifying.
