So I just pre ordered the boxset.. Interesting to note for us Australians, the "per order charge" has already increased by a couple dollars.. Because of the UK vote yesterday? OUCH.. Worked out to AUST $105 . I'm not sure the last time you had a per order charge, but it's been at ~$12.50 since mid-to-late November. The AU$/pound ratio has been steadily getting worse for us for the majority of the year, so this is pretty standard.

This will be a definite buy for me closer to the time (I tend to pre-order releases the month before) but, sadly, unless the 'extra' story really interests me, like a couple of others on here, it'll only be the 'standard' release...

I really hope Jon Culshaw's reading the audiobook. Really hope. Be a good way to get as close to Delgado (and Ainley) in this set. Plus a perfect Brig and a superb 3. But I sadly assume it'll be Katy Manning due to her connection with Terror of the Autons, whom I adore as an actor and person and Jo but I mean....it won't be the same considering how not like Pertwee, Delgado or Courtney she sounds.

At very least the standard edition is an absolute must-buy. It may be awhile before I can pre-order either but the LE extras do sound very tempting, if only for what sounds like a whole disc of behind the scenes with this amazing line-up.

After thinking about this all day, I just want to say how nice it feels to be really excited by a new upcoming release from Big Finish. I guess I am having something of BF burn-out right now and the things I've pre-ordered the past few months feel as if they were purchased out of a combination of habit & loyalty. Masterful is a different thing all together. I'm genuinely eager for this. It's nice to be looking forward to a Big Finish release again.

When I saw the cast list, I assumed that the logistics meant that the Masters would have to be recorded separately and edited together. Such a great and welcome surprise to see that Simm and Jacobi recorded together! Not ready to hand over any money at this point, but definitely curious to learn more.

Big Finish don't do things by halves. In fact, they do things in doubles! They'd done many single Master stories and then they did The Two Masters. Then when it came to Ravenous they upped the ante by making it four Masters. And now, for the anniversary release, they've got eight Masters! So, who's looking forward to the next multi-Master story featuring sixteen of them?

I don't think I have BF burn-out, but between a bit of what strikes me as economizing and playing it close to the cuff in a number of ways, and my having a hard time mustering enthusiasm for anything because of the things going on in my life recently, the most I've looked forward to anything since Legacy of Time is probably the MR in general because it seems to be on another hot streak. This on the other hand sounds pretty glorious and it is very nice to get that excited about something. It's also very nice that things have gotten to the point where I'm not even going to bother wondering if I'll like what they do with Simm's Master, I'm already quite confident that I will.

That's some exciting news. I wonder who will narrate the Audiobook. I hope it's Jon Culshaw

What? Katy is brilliant. She gets the tone of voice and inflections and verbal ticks of both the Brig and the 3rd Doctor very well. Yes, she has a female voice, but otherwise she does an amazing job. I really enjoy all her Short Trips and Companion Chronicles.
But we have discussed this before in another thread, what is more important to people- a voice that sounds like the actor they are impersonating or if it is fine for them to do a good act and catch the essence so to speak. Katy really catches the essence and I definitely prefer her to Jon Culshaw.
Edit- I just realized that "What" is considered rude in the English language. Since we had a translation misunderstanding between different nationalities yesterday. It is perfectly fine in German. So for the more sensitive inclined, "I beg your pardon".

With reference to your edit, I would just point out that when Donna appeared in the TARDIS in her wedding dress and the spaceship Titanic crashed through the walls a year later the Doctor used 'What?' to state his surprise not once but three times...and as far as I recall no one in the UK was mightily offended by it. It is perfectly fine in English too. 😊

But in the very beginning, I just used the formal "haeuh?" we use in my region, which is also considered rude in other parts of Germany.
"What" is a huge improvement on that. I just wanted to avoid stepping on toes, since we had this misunderstanding yesterday, where a member was upset because another non-native speaker member used a clumsy phrase inadvertently. And I very often forget myself to be considerate and have caused some unintentional misunderstandings myself. Just this once I remembered.

Isn't this typical of the Master? He waits until we're distracted by the General Election and maxed-out with pre-Christmas spending and then sneaks out a colossal scheme to take over our wallets by stealth!
I'm powerless to resist... they are the Master and I will pre-order them...
(I love the idea they will include the Delgado Master via a new Third Doctor/UNIT era audiobook; for me that makes buying the full LE a no-brainer - my era! I wonder who will read/perform it? Katy? Tim? Jon Culshaw? Whoever they ask, I'm sure it will be excellent.)

I’m almost wondering if that’s how they’re going to get past the whole Dreyfus issue. By having Milo Parker play a younger version of the First Master. That way you can still show his descent and development into the ruthless and cunning villain we all know whilst perhaps suggesting he learnt some tricks from his older and far more psychotic incarnations.

Yep, another person thrilled at this news! And I also want to join the ranks of those stoked to have McQueen back again. Jacobi has just edged him out as my favorite Master, but it's so close. I'm not one of those that thought we'd never hear from him again but I have certainly missed him. Especially with the amount of Master stories we have been getting. And John Simm? What a great addition to the ever growing "family" of Doctor Who actors at Big Finish! Big Finish will do great things with his version of the Master, I am sure. I don't know anything about Milo Parker, but his inclusion in this set is intriguing. Big Finish has taken a character that was never my favorite villain and turned him/her into one I look forward to hearing every time, no matter the incarnation. Really looking forward to hearing this during my birthday month, 2021! Happy Birthday to me!!!
