While I am sure there are perfectly good ones that genuinely help people in real life, health spas in tv and film are never not creepy! Seriously I can’t think of a single tv show or movie featuring a health spa that wasn’t vaguely disturbing from the way treatments are portrayed to staff to clientele. There is just something about them that is so deeply unsettling!

The Island of Doctor Moreau is almost impossible to adapt accurately without making some changes. The original novella has very little action in it and mainly focuses on the observations and inner musings of the main protagonist. Not something that works for the film format.

The tv series “A Series of Unfortunate Events” and “The Mysterious Benedict Society” take place in the same universe. They have the exact same quirky retro aesthetic, focus on super smart orphans with tragic backstories, bizarre complicated conspiracies involving secret organizations.

There should be a remake of “Charade” with Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman, they have the same dynamic as Carey Grant and Audrey Hepburn. Plus it would just be sexy and fun and suspenseful with those two! It could either work as a movie or a mini series. I could see it either set in the sixties like the original or updated to present day. I don’t know why but I also picture Michelle Gomez as a gender flipped version of the Walter Matthau character. Maybe I just really want to see Peter and Jenna play characters who have proper kissing scenes and have a happy ending together to make up for 12 and Clara not having those during their tragic romance. Sidenote: I am not the only person who would like a remake of Charade with these two: freelydifferentluminary.tumblr.com/post/163615241816/charade-ive-seen-some-posts-about-possibleSidenote: I can totally see Peter doing the showering in his suit scene!😁 Sidenote: Would also love a remake of “Roman Holiday” with these two! So what if Peter is a little older than Gregory Peck from the original? He has that character’s world weary personality and remakes are supposed to change things up from the original anyways.

Yeah they are both adults (plus if thats wrong any doctor human relationship is wrong because theres 1000s of year age difference.)
Also looking at real life, Big Finishes own Lisa Bowerman and David Warner are a couple with an age gap And i can’t see you saying its creepy to their faces. So why be bothered by fictional character's
A lot of times age gaps are bad, but a mid 20 something and a mid 50 isn’t bad, rare sure but certainly not creepy

As you said, sometimes it can be cause for concern but there are exceptions to the rule.

Also Jenna is 35 now so her and Peter playing love interests would have a slightly less noticeable age gap, a gap that will only lessen more over time. I bet a remake of Charade with Peter and Jenna or any romance story with them would a big hit. They have amazing chemistry together!

It is so common in films/tv that an older man dates a younger woman. We need to be moving away from that trope. I have an idea. Why doesn't Big Finish employ Calista Flockhart in some capacity? You know, she could be a Director/Producer of something and who knows, she may bring some additional talent into the fold?

You know, she could be a Director/Producer of something and who knows, she may bring some additional talent into the fold? Dame Edna Everage on Parkinson mentioned Calista Flockhart many years ago. "That's a great name. It's vaguely pharmaceutical. Can you imagine going into the chemist and saying, 'I'll have a little soap, a little toothpaste', look left and right and say 'and a small tube of Calista Flockhart if I may. With applicator.'" Call it an odd/unpopular/controversial movie/TV opinion, but I think that's one of the funniest television interviews I've ever seen!

A remake of Charade to me is a bit like trying to remake Casablanca, but I can definitely see it working with Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman. Take that as high praise. I'm actually kind of curious what a Doctor Who story riffing on the idea could look like. Side note: Audrey Hepburn's tribute to Cary Grant at the 1981 Kennedy Centre Honors is... I think one of the best I've ever seen. If not the best. It's a phenomenal speech from a phenomenal speaker.
