Ominous music plays in the background.... Is that my funeral March are you planning something đ? No, it is more like the music playing when the protagonist realizes they are being stalked...

Some good reactions from down under courtesy of Josh Snares Twitter feed, including replies (a witty and original fan of both nu and classic who, assuming you haven't seen his K9 & Company titles yet):

Come on BF, you HAVE to address the elephant...vortisaur?...in the room with Susan and the Daleks (and the Monk and her grandfather). Seriously. Yeah, she's answered the call her grandfather didn't (at least until NOTD) but why did she? I don't think it was for the betterment of Gallifrey. Granddad has his reasons for being the way he is but Susan has never regenerated so she's never had her perspective change on things like he has. No more than any of us perhaps, but that makes her more like us, and frankly if I were her I know what my reasons would be.

No more than any of us perhaps, but that makes her more like us, and frankly if I were her I know what my reasons would be. Yeah, had a think about that. This was what I came up with... The Doctor's never really had a longtime home, per se, outside of the TARDIS. Nowhere he's wanted to stay for all his lives. Susan, on the other hand, with all the work she's contributed towards bringing Earth back out from beneath two Dalek invasions, very much does. Home is Earth. She was there during the reconstruction, watching it all play out against a backdrop of fallen saucers and smouldering ruins, sifting through what could be salvaged. Her losses weren't something she could put the distance of Dido, Rome and Vortis between because she saw it every day. Inescapably. The War, in some respects, is an opportunity for that distance, but it's also a way for her to fight Daleks that, for once, isn't defensive. From an outsider's perspective, it might even look like a fair fight.

Susan knows the Daleks and the suffering they inflict better than anyone, sheâs had to live through the effects of two occupations. So sheâs willing to take action to ensure no-one else has to suffer that. Also, Susan doesnât have quite the same history with the Time Lords as the Doctor (though her precise connection to the Time Lords varies by account), so is perhaps more likely to feel duty-bound to obey their call to arms than the Doctor, who by his eighth incarnation as rebelled against the Time Lords numerous times.

Do we know how much Paul McGann is actually in this? I think itâs unclear at this point. My money will be on just one adventure personally. Probably the last one to see Susan off into her next regeneration. Again, this is all just speculation on my part. Either way, I hope this leads to some truly gripping drama between the two of them.

Well it will be interesting to find out how famous she is back home...well she did invent the name TARDIS lol. The TimeLords were quite content to leave her on Earth unlike her grandfather whom they called to TRIAL and exiled. She has lost a husband and a son there was nothing keeping her tied to Earth and for some reason whatever originally made her say we can never go back has been dealt with.

Anyone has any idea as to when we'll see the cover art for this? One would think announcing it this close to the release date, they'd have released the cover and a few more details straight away. Maybe in March? But it's still so long away ,_,

Good theory. I actually think he might be in this for more and just one story... maybe a confrontation at the beginning, than stepping back into the background, and IF we get a regeneration, he might re-appear... (it is his usual April box-set slot after all ) And I am totally with you concerning the gripping drama.

Probably Drax. He strikes me as a wheeler dealer type of fellow who flogs Chameleon Archs. Well, if anyone can survive a Time War itâs the Black Marketeer team of one man (or one woman) Con Artist with a Blinovitch Limitation Effect Limiter. Who would be âThe War Draxâ? We know Miranda Raison is the eighth, and Hugh Fraser is the twelfth, so if theyâre keeping roughly in synch with the Doctor than the ninth Drax would have âfoughtâ. Ah yes, the unseen War Drax. No doubt portrayed by someone such as Sid James or George Cole.
