In UK I still wear mask and antibac when do shopping but hardly anybody else does now, people won't do simplest things unless there made too, it takes a few seconds just spray trolley and hands no big deal, this is why covid on the rise again society has become too complacent. Hope your grandson gets better soon. I still sometimes wear a mask, if I think I’m better off for it. I always bring antibac though. I got used to it. Pity others don't share your common sense buddy, yup I'm same takes few seconds antibac. Shocking how many people at supermarket walk past don't sanitise.

My grandson had Covid again. Now his parents are sick, so far testing negative, but keeping away from folks outside their immediate family to be safe. Their younger son, who was recently vaccinated (he's 2) seems to have avoided it this time. And my nephew reported that he had it last week, his wife has it this week. And both their kids had it. I don't know how my spouse and I have escaped ever testing positive, but so far we haven't. Hope your grandson gets better soon. Thanks. Our family has never stopped masking in public places. Many folks in the community I’m moving to still do, thankfully. The place I’m moving from, very few mask. I went back to clean up my house so we can sell it and was always one of the very few masking in stores. Though my doctors’ offices still required it.

At my company it is still policy that everyone wears a mask all day at the work desk. We even do work yoga while wearing masks- the Big Boss sponsors free yoga classes in the Monday breaks. In Germany, we still have compulsory masks in public transport, doctors, pharmacies and public buildings. A lot of people are moaning. However, I know of too many people suffering of long Covid or have lost loved ones.

However there is a large demographic of adults who refuse to..
Beginning of last week we had 4 ticket/mask inspectors waiting at my bus stop. I had a great conversation with them, they are "aware" of the demographic who refuse to, their job was to basically kick em off if they dont wear.. naturally on my bus everyone was wearing one. I told them they should check my bus I catch at 6:30am - guarantee 1-2 every day. Frustrating.
We are 3/4 of the way through Winter and cases have naturally skyrocketed..
1 of my oldest mates was supposed to move to Japan this coming Saturday with his wife for her work..he tested positive yesterday.. That's put a huge spanner in the works for them.

Buses around here have this message on the electronic sign at the front of the bus: "No mask No Ride." Masking is optional in my synagogue now but a lot of folks still do it. The folk dancing groups I go to require dancers to be masked and vaxxed.

Well, it is Autumn booster season... and a common side effect of the (Moderna) Spikevax bivalent Original/Omicron vaccine is...
diarrhoea. (I should be so lucky.)
Other than that, it is the usual stuff - headache, muscle ache, any and all symptoms of COVID or flu, soreness at the site of the injection. But this is only on the copy of the package leaflet you get with the official leaflet - that plays it all down as usual. Well, tomorrow morning will tell. Next challenge - getting the flu jab.

A female mate of mine who is at retirement age had the misfortune of being told whilst in the middle of a dialysis session that she tested positive. They had to quickly rush her to another section of hospital which messed up her routine. I haven't heard from her in a couple days now.

This is pretty much my life too!
I've felt like I'm about 90 years old (I imagine) since having the jab five days ago. It goes away gradually, I think.
I've had an annual flu jab for nearly twenty years now, and only once did I have an adverse reaction to it. Hopefully this year will continue my good fortune.
Best wishes to you

Shh, don't tell the squeamish, they might not want to get this booster.
Worst. Night. Ever.
Hot but shivering, thumping headache, aching arm.
A bit better once morning came and I had some paracetamol with a cup of tea, but not 100% yet.
Naturally, had to go out to get more meds, but that wind hasn't blown the cobweb outs yet.
Stay safe.

Mask mandates were removed last week here in Adelaide (for public transport).. nice to see at least 50% of people on my daily bus trips still wearing them.
Historically in Japan, they mostly wear masks in public- it's not a "thing".. basic protection.
