Is there anyone that is still on the fence about purchasing this? Was involved in a discussion on FB a few hours ago with a bunch of Aussie BF collectors about the moment this becomes "available to pre-order"- will it be April the 1st or will it be dragged out till the last day of April? With the timezone differences around the world which countries would be "worse off" and possibly miss out if it becomes sold out.. The general consensus is the site may crash from the influx of orders- will be interesting to see what the other vendors experience.. I think it would be interesting to know if more units have been produced to reflect the change in release. If we’re going from one UK only retailer with, say, 2,000 units to worldwide across 3+ retailers... well, they’re asking for trouble. Ebayable

I just noticed this in the info for "Echoes Of Extinction" FAQ :
"How many copies can I buy? While we do not have the ability to restrict orders on the website, anyone buying more than one copy will have the multiple orders cancelled and refunded."
Interesting. So if you want to buy 2 copies for yourself they won't let you? The 2nd part of the sentence sort of negates the 1st one..

They can't physically stop you placing the order - but when it's picked up, they'll cancel anything over "Qty: 1". Seems pretty cut and dry.

Given how poor the stories in this series have been, their cancelling orders can be viewed as stellar customer service.

Still reads "odd" to me, you would think they could (on their own website) change the quantity amount.. Anyway.. I will still order 2, 1 for my brother and 1 for me.

Well either they can't do it on the fly, they don't have anyone on call to change the site's basket programming - or they clearly would just change it. So instead they're asking people not to do so, to try and ensure as many people as possible can get it at cost without either missing out or resorting to scalpers. If they're really going to manually go in and remove orders, I'd suggest your brother orders his own or you could find you get your plus one deleted.

So my main question for when people get round to this is can i listen to it without having heard anything else tlv related? (I imagine the answer is a categoric no, only bought it for the vinyl although i will pick up the other audios at some point i’m just curious i guess if i can get away with listening to it instead of waiting till i get the other audios and books, eventually)

It's two standalones that make a greater whole. There's some exposition in the Tenth Doctor's side of the story that refers to events of Time Lord Victorious / the two novels, as it's the epilogue for him, and therefore the project. This might seem a bit clunky and spoilery if you've not read them, but gives you what you need to understand. Really it's up to you whether you don't mind knowing the events of the books before reading them or not.

It probably will be a long time before i get round to getting the TLV stuff (like at least a year) so if i can listen to it soon i may as well, love Mcgann and Tennant.

I've just started on All Flesh is Grass but wasn't sure where to slot The Minds of Magnox in? I reached the start of Chapter Four that said, "It had been a long few weeks..." and just assumed that was where it went. I'd heard people say "after the battle of Mordeela", and this seemed to fit the description. If there's a more obvious point to slot in though, do let me know Anyway, I liked Magnox (and the vinyl design is gorgeous!). It was more Brian's story than the Doctor's, but I quite liked that. I don't know if Brian survives TLV or not, but I'd like to hear more from him in the future. I'm sure someone somewhere probably has plans And the coda on the CD version was a really lovely touch (I'm reliably informed it's also been uploaded to YouTube officially by the Doctor Who channel). After the frantic pace of the first three chapters of All Flesh, it was nice to slow things down a little with Magnox. I guess it's time to finish the novel now so I can round things out with Echoes of Extinction (which I should hopefully receive my copy of in the next few weeks! ).

And that's Time Lord Victorious completed! My opinion hasn't really changed; it's been a great and ambitious project and it's recommended.
What I feel has let it down has been the promotion and release schedule. It should have been clearly stated and reiterated that the Time Lord Victorious is The Waters of Mars and the two books. Everything else is supporting material that branches off those and should have been promoted and released as such. If you just want the TLV story, then you can just indulge in the two books and get a cracking back-to-back Tenth Doctor trilogy. If you loved the books, then you can see how the Eighth and Ninth Doctors join in, get more expansion on the Dalek Time Squad, Brian the Ood and the Tenth Doctor in the aftermath, etc. That doesn't mean they can't all still function as standalone stories, but I think they spent a lot of time trying to emphasise that and all the licencees participating and I felt it lost focus on the main story.
To a lesser extent I think the supporting material should've made a greater effort to tie into the events of the books more. Echoes of Extinction managed it well, but the other audios and the DWM comic didn't, so I'm not sure what happened there. It would be less of an issue if the release schedule was altered and how it all joins up is more obvious.
I'd definitely be on board for another project like this and I think the above points are useful pieces of feedback on how to tackle something similar in the future. I'd also like further stories under the Time Lord Victorious banner; it's been crafted in such a way where any of the Doctors could be involved and I'd still like a proper epilogue for Ten.

Aaand that's it! Finished off All Flesh is Grass today (much quicker than I'd anticipated). I found it incredibly quick pace-wise, and a bit short on the whole. I quite enjoyed it though, even if the solution to the ultimate problem seemed somewhat obvious. I agree with shallacatop that they should have made it clearer that the actual meat of TLV was the books though. I consumed most of the ancillary material first and felt totally oblivious to what was going on; then I read The Knight, the Fool and the Dead and everything started making sense. I was to able to mentally slot all the other stories in as I went along though (which was actually quite fun), so it's swings and roundabouts I suppose. Now I've just to have a little bit of patience for my Echoes of Extinction vinyl to arrive. I could listen to the download now, but I'd like my first listen to be "on record" I'd be all for another event like this in the future. Though it's admittedly been a nightmare trying to source all of the pieces, it's been an interesting and unique way of storytelling. If they could just organise things so that most of the licensees could contribute meaningful parts to the story next time, rather than just "here's how character X arrived at situation Y", I think another story in the same release mould would be great

My copy of All Flesh is Grass finally arrived and I greatly enjoyed it. So much so I read it in one sitting. It's fun and fast-paced, and the Doctor interactions were excellent. Brian the Ood and the Dalek Strategist have been the 'standouts' of the event for me. They're wonderful twists on classic (The Ood are 'classic' now, aren't they? I feel ancient.) Who monsters, fitting as part of their species while also feeling like distinct individuals.
