I'm still wondering why The Doctor is shocked that Skaro is back when Matt Smith was there only two years ago Well, WHEN in Skaro's timeline was 11 there though? It is only Davros' conversation that dates 12's visit as post Time War. Surely Skaro was timelocked with the rest of the war? WHy would he be shocked by seeing Skaro if he could be dragged there any old time?

I want to see how Skaro returned, not the ridiculous version from the novels but something that undid the events of ROTD. I'm still wondering why The Doctor is shocked that Skaro is back when Matt Smith was there only two years ago When 11 was there it was in ruins. I think he meant they'd rebuilt the city, not the planet.

I really enjoyed the audio book of Engines of War, so I am looking forward to these.
I hope that we can get.. ..a feel of this incarnation of the time lord formerly know as the Doctor NOT being the Doctor, but still being someone we can love ..Rassilon as played by Timothy Dalton ..a younger version of the War Doctor in some stories ..some stories without the Daleks

I would like to see a exploration of what makes The Doctor the Doctor. I hope there is exploration of this. Showing us what the War Doctor is not can help show what The Doctor is. It's too much to hope for - and a bad idea narratively perhaps - but I'd love him to be like David Colling's Full Fathom Five Doctor. After all - what is War except the ends justifying the means? You had to go & mention that particular audio didn't you Mr G... ;)grrrrrrrrrrrr

I don't want them to pull any punches this Doctor is a warrior. I want to see him kill and do so alot. If the doctor was so ashamed of being war we need to see why. Id like to see what happens to other timelords like The Rani, Susan, Romana, The Monk. They had to be in the timewar if the Doctor was pushed into it. (Except maybe Susan)

..some stories without the Daleks I very much doubt this will happen given that it's set during the Time War.

I very much want to hear the idea explored of a good man pushed into bad, awful situations and having to deal with with problems that he can't wave a sonic at and solve. I want to to hear the costs being The War Doctor places on him. I also we get some adventures early in his tenure as The War Doctor. I also want to be surprised by an occasional lightness of tone. And if Hellboy could show up, well, that would be awesome!

Then why even make a Time War series? This was supposed to be the greatest war in all of eternity its going to be dark and deadly.

I'm not sure it's just BF though, I noticed Engines of War was very similar. For someone who was The Warrior, the Oncoming Storm, etc. he came across as very doctorish. It would be nice if they did explore his darker side (as per Dark Shadows, Dorian Gray etc.) but I doubt they would want to alienate who-fans by making it un-who (as per Torchwood). Cheers Tony

Cheers Tony This is the one main reason I don't want a War Doctor series. Hes going to come across as just like every other Doctor and its going to be disappointing. This needs to be a Rated R series and The darkest who ever created. Like I said before we need to see what made The Doctor hate this incarnation so much.

What sets the War Doctor apart from The Doctor? It's like taking Wolverine and putting him him in a PG-13 world? Oh wait.

BF aren't always family-friendly with Who - even Damaged Goods prved that this year - but with a Nu-Who licence frsh in the bag I'd imagine there'll be a lot of scrutiny that, say, the Novel Adaptations wouldn't be under.

Despite long having wanted BF to produce more adult themed Who, I'd be happy with a War Doctor who is infact quite Doctorish, because I always understood what made him unacceptable to The Doctor was the use of The Moment, and as we know now, he didn't actually use it, although he was prepared to.

Yes, I've taken it to mean the same. It was that one act that repulsed future Docs over anything else. I think some people assume he turned into Absolom Daak I think it would be more fitting if he was Doctor-ish as that's surely what we learned in Day Of The Doctor - that even on his worst day...the Doctor could never be that bad. I've no doubt he will have some dark days but I think there'll be a fundamental optimism - kinda like Eccleston's "Coward...every time" from the end of Parting Of The Ways.

Make me a warrior and Doctor no more were the words used in night of the doctor. This was way before the doctor decided to use the moment. So still hes going to have to do incredibly horrible things.
