Haven't read the previous 6 pages so apologies if I am repeating something said earlier but I'd like to see the whole of the War Doctor's life, not just the bit at the end when looked like he does in Day of the Doctor. I'd like to see his early days, maybe with a cover photograph of a young John Hurt from the same period as the one used at the end of Night of the Doctor. For instance, his immediate post-regeneration story, set immediately after Night would be interesting. I really wonder what rights they would have to young Hurt photos. Unless Hurt has some photos in his own possession or the Beeb would let them thumb through their back catalogue. If not though, they could always just show him from the back like the trailer for Seasons of War did.

John Hurt will almost without doubt have photos of himself from years past.

To clarify, I meant ones he'd be willing to use. Some folks have certain boundaries when it comes to personal image vs. professional image but yes I expect he has at least one photo of himself somewhere haha.

I'd rather like to see the Doctor owning "Ka Faraq Gati" as a proper noun for a while, it's suitably bloodthirsty for a younger War Doctor, while the older one would eshue even that title.
Also, Leela. She should be in it. I can see him turning to her for help, maybe even allowing her, and her alone, to call him "Doctor".

I do hope they give him a different moniker (ie: the Renegade, or some such) for most of the releases. We know he's the Doctor, but we also know from NotD and Engines of War that he gave up that name for a very long time. I'm optimistic that BF will respect that established information (particularly since Nick Briggs did the audiobook for Engines of War), and I'll be interested to see how he's addressed by others.

If Engines of War is anything to go by, they call him "Doctor", he's the only one who doesn't (even the Daleks call him the Doctor, and IMO them referring to him as "Predator" is dead cool).

Yeah, I like the idea from Engines of War that everyone else calls him the Doctor but he doesn't think of himself as that guy. You wouldn't suddenly just start calling someone you already know a different name. I don't think it would make any logical sense either if he were going around saying "Hello, I'm The Renegade". Surely he'd just use his nickname Theta Sigma from the Time Lord Academy instead?

Anything approaching the tone of David Collings Unbound Doctor, or Seven taken to a degree of manipulation as yet unseen would work well for me.

I'm not looking for anything specific, but I'm one of the hold-outs who hasn't taken to the whole War Doctor concept as a whole. It has never worked for me and I'm more excited about having John Hurt, the actor, than I am about the War Doctor. I have preordered the first boxed set anyway because If anyone can make me feel as if War truly has a place in Doctor Who it will be Big Finish. Let's see how they do.

Maybe he could be "Lord Lungbarrow" to the Time Lords, a series of nom de guerres in the field (based on Smith/Forensn puns perhaps?) and Ka Faraq Gati when addressing the Daleks, revelling in their fear of him - not a Doctor thing to do, but it's on the edge, you can imagine him throwing that name around to get a reaction.

If it's gonna be a callback type thing, I'd like him to go by Foreman

Well he is For Man, humanity seems to be the only species not touched by the War, obviously his doing.

I'm currently going through the Seasons of War anthology and one story that really struck me was "Here Comes the Doctor." It goes a long way in showing just how far the Doctor's warrior incarnation is removed from his previous selves by having him attack a group of people he once helped in the past. The result is just shocking.
So in answer to the question, I want to see a War Doctor who is unhinged from the usual ethics and moral codes that typically define the Doctor. I want to see a version of the character who isn't above using extreme and questionable measures to achieve his goals. A character who reminds us just what the Doctor is supposed to be by demonstrating what he shouldn't be.

Which the brief podcast with Briggs and Hurt seems to suggest we'll be getting - they call it a mix of adventure and philosophy.
