The Tomorrow PeopleI don't know if the 2000AD licence was lost or it just didn't sell as much as they hoped, but that range has gone too. Also confirmed in this weeks Podcast as one they'll never get back. Regards mark687 2000AD and Big Finish seemed like a perfect match. Just like Doctor Who, 2000AD was a big part of my childhood.

Not one of the ones I have, but the author only lists editions by Black Library/Games Workshop; reviews from release time say that BL/GW were the publishers; and I can't find any reference to a Big Finish edition of the title. And the back cover of the BL/GW edition explicitly says "Produced by Big Finish for Black Library". Sorry, but I think you're mistaken. If it helps I never remember any Warhammer audios being available on the Big Finish website. I'm sure I've told this story before One of the very early BF Podcasts ( even before Paul Spragg) had an E-Mail asking the same thing, and the response was "Yes We make them, No We Don't Sell them. Glad you like them. Don't mention them again" Regards mark687

The Tomorrow PeopleI don't know if the 2000AD licence was lost or it just didn't sell as much as they hoped, but that range has gone too. Three things saddened me about The Tomorrow People licence being lost. 1, I adored what BF had done with the show. 2, There was a series written and partly in the can and that was going to be a fantastic season. It was just going to be fabulous. 3, I know that season was going to be great because I was writing for the season planned to come after it. Claire and I had a story, The Screaming Planet, down as either second or third story and we introduced a race of aliens Joe Lidster was interested in revisiting for the final episode. I think they had potential to be a really interesting enemy. I was really fired up for doing this one but... alas it was not to be. I was also just disappointed not to heat any more of the audios because they were really, really good, and what was coming in those two seasons was great stuff. It's a real shame.

I'm still deeply sad about the loss of 2000AD. I hope Big Finish can reacquire it some day as it's such a rich world to play in.

As far as Sapphire and Steele goes Nick Briggs always maintained it was due to internet piracy, too many people downloading it from illegal sources. But JHE on virtual BF day said they had lost the licence??? I thought they lost the license due to that dreadful American reboot.

My mistake, felt like I would have heard about it if the Americans had attempted their own version of Sapphire and Steel.

I interpreted that as BF stopped making them because of piracy and the license therefore lapsed, rather than the copyright holder took the license away

What were the Robin Hood audios like? I take it, they didn’t last long as I certainly don’t remember the television series itself setting the world on fire.

I think you are absolutley spot-on with that!

I enjoyed them and it was interesting as they ran concurrent with the tv show. They were single voice, but I really enjoyed the ones narrated by Richard Armitage and especially Sam Troughton - he made it sound like full cast!

It's nuts how things change. BF couldn't give some of these away, even Sapphire & Steel despite it being insanely wonderful. The entire series was on offer as a bundle for £50 for yonks.

I've just found the original run of 2000AD on CD in my spare room. It was these discs that got me into Big Finish in the first place. Oh joy of joys.
The recent adaptations on Audible leave me cold.

'The Avengers' - not a license lost, but I *really* liked that first series Big Finish did, The Lost Stories. Apparently BF could only remake those first stories and not make any new ones with that original cast. A real shame because Julian Wadham and Anthony Howell were a great team. I'd have loved more.
And yes, I still mourn the loss of The Tomorrow People and Sapphire and Steel.
I remember a TP story in particular called 'Alone', the first one made after the passing of Philip Gilbert (TIM). I was so grateful they were carrying on with the range, and that story captured absolutely the atmosphere and the 'heart' of the ethics of the TV show. One of BF's best audios, I think.
Oh, I miss 'em.
