Tracked down another batch of the Doctor Who New Adventure books. Now missing 14 of the 61. Sadly the ones I'm missing are the most expensive ones to get. Next I'll try getting the Missing Adventures when I can justify the expense. Some of those books are a fortune to obtain. I haven't even tried to get a full collection, because of the expense. There's a few of the books in the last four or five that are so insanely overpriced on the used market I'd hesitate to buy a copy even if I'd just won the lottery. Sadly when they were first published it was hard to get Doctor Who books where I was living - and I still very rarely see them in local used shops now that I have moved out of the isolated north. I did manage to score a first edition of Human Nature in mint condition for a surprisingly pocket friendly fee.

I had the most amazing luck a few months back when I found about thirty-forty of them (and almost all of the EDAs & about 40 PDAs) just sitting on a shelf for $4 a piece. I wish I'd had the money for the whole lot, but instead just got all the VNAs and every available EDA up to and including Escape Velocity (as well as a small handful of interesting PDAs).
Given that I live in Canada, having all but twenty of the VNAs is a pretty decent achievement.
(And no, there was no Lungbarrow, no Dying Days, no Happy Endings, but there were three or four that came after #50 and things like All-Consuming Fire and The Face of the Enemy which seem to go for quite a pretty penny online)

I'm in Ottawa and have yet to find any in the used book shops locally.

I concur with what coffeeaddict is stating. In my browsing experience of used Canadian bookstores it is very unusual to come across a notable classic Doctor Who novel. On occasion, you might find a very common Target/Pinnacle one.

Have taken the plunge into Audible and made my first non-BF DW audio purchases... Not pleased at all so far with the workings of Audible but I guess it's worth a try for some of the offerings if I can actually get it to work here shortly? (I decided I probably wouldn't mind staying signed up awhile and using my monthly credits on installments of the Nest Cottage stories). I was extremely keen to hear the four Torchwood BBC Plays (yay, more Torchwood by Joseph Lidster) and The Lost Files, so I got finally got the Audible editions.
For my two free audiobooks with the trial I picked two of Lara (Angelique) Parker's remarkable Dark Shadows novel readings, The Salem Branch and Wolf Moon Rising which were already a preposterous value at regular price. I'm sure I'll want to pick up the Audible version of Angelique's Descent next but for now I have the Big Finish version so I let that be the one to wait for later.

I've found the best combination is to browse and buy on my pc, then to switch to my mobile app to access my library and listen. That way you really do get the best of both worlds.

If you're finding Audible's audio files to be too restricting for your purposes, the US dollar downpour.com (Blackstone Audio) is an option that doesn't include DRM software. Undeniably though, it does appear that the Audible EMPIRE has a lot more BBC and Big Finish titles to offer their customers. I'm thinking about one day trying some of The Twilight Zone radio dramas that Blackstone offers.

Picked up The Underwater Menace DVD today, as it finally appeared in the local video store.
Also the latest DMW, which seems to be rather heavy on the Big Finish material this month for some reason. Gee, I wonder why. . .

Picked up The Underwater Menace DVD today, as it finally appeared in the local video store. I pre-ordered LOL my copy of The Underwater Menace from Amazon.ca today. I've got no problem with local shops and WhoNA selling their DVD supplies of it a little earlier. A couple more weeks (May 24 NTSC release date) won't hurt after already waiting an EPIC amount of time.

The special edition TV Movie DVD also includes some very memorable extras such as: the Philip Segal interview, the wilderness years documentary and the examination of comic strips featuring the Eighth Doctor. An absolutely fantastic value 2 disc set! Enjoy!!!
