Is this linked to Disney, or is it entirely separate from Disney's live action adaptations of their previous animated films (aka an easy way to make money without taking risks and actually getting creative)?

If you'd clicked kurumais' link, you'd know that it's a Warner Brothers/Village Road Show production.

I also have strong opinions about politics. Call me Daria (or Jane, I'm more open to new things than Daria is).

Though speaking of live-action Disney remakes, the new Cinderella is something of a multi-Master story, featuring as it does both Derek Jacobi and Alex MacQueen.
I wasn't expecting to enjoy it, but it greatly exceeded my expectations. I found it quite charming. I actually liked it more than Ever After, which, while more innovative, is, I think, less well-written and well-acted (though it still had some great performances, e.g. Timothy West's)

I wouldn't say I'm a fan, but I'm intrested in this take. It'll be intresting to see how they adapt the character for the twenty-first century given how much of the period the character and the stories are. On the otherhand, they seem to be covering the Warzi, which is.....uncomfortable, to say the least, although given Samuel Jackson's involvement, who knows? There's also the new Netflix animated series coming out, as well.
