Me too. I think maybe he doesn't just look like Gollum.

Fallen between the cracks and humorously written off as "garbage" by Rey, the re-emergence flight of the Millennium Falcon was definitely a golden moment for me when viewing The Force Awakens. I spent many hours as a young lad playing with my 1979 Kenner Millennium Falcon. I wish that I still had that toy spaceship in my possession, so that I could play with it some more from a grown man's amusement perspective!

I wonder how "tall" Snoke is, in person. That plus-size holo-projection seemed a bit over OTT to me. So was the Emperor's in Empire Strikes Back

My quick review, enjoyable & fun for hat it was. It was a little too much of a remake of Star Wars for me except of course, BIGGER!!! I don't feel like JJ Abrams is a very good film director but instead a great mimic of other people's styles. I like the new main characters and hope that the next installment goes its own way a little more.

And here is my 2 cents worth of speculation for the next two movies. Rey is Ben's granddaughter, which offers the series a nice balance in having a Skywalker train a Kenobi in the ways of the Force and the central crux of the new trilogy will be Ben's conversion from the dark side of the force to the light.

Ben Kenobi's daughter? I think she'd be massively too young for that and he was from the "A jedi shall not know anger, nor hatred, nor love" old order.

That may well be so but we have a thirty or so year gap in Kenobi's history that we don't know about. I think that relation makes so much more sense than her being Luke's daughter. And it allows balance to be returned to the Force. I think the clues are there.

There are clues, for sure (Ewan McGregor coming in to record the "these are your first steps" line in the vision Rey has when touching the lightsaber) but there are also clues about her being Luke's daughter. There'll be plenty of red herrings. I'm honestly not too fussed about who is related to who, I was just happy we got a whole new cast that were immediately likable, fun and worth basing a new series on. I cared more about Poe Dameron in 10 minutes of screen time than I did about Anakin in 3 prequels. Excting that we don't have all that long till Ep 8 - Rogue One is 11 months away and Ep VIII is only 6 months after that

I saw the original film back in 1977 (back when it was simply called Star Wars [before George Lucas had considered prequels]) - this was nostalgic to me
My negatives were mainly on lack of clarity regarding the big picture. Maybe if they had included a little more in the opening text crawl to say how much power the New Order had (I would have thought quite a bit to build Starkiller base [ unless that had previously been built or mostly built by the Empire]) and how the New Republic were doing and what their connection with the Resistance was.
On the positive side, we had more information on Stormtroopers rather than the generic "faceless minions" of previous films - and I don't think we've had air to surface attacks before.
My biggest negative is not to the film but to the people on the internet whining that the women about the women not looking sexy enough or complaining that one woman is competent and doesn't wait for men to rescue her. And now some people are petitioning for Lucas to be brought back ...presumably to do a Jar Jar Binks and the Ewoks movie....

Great to see Laura Dern getting a high profile gig in Star Wars, but I'm even more excited to see her doing another project with David Lynch. Can't wait to see who she winds up playing on Twin Peaks.

Non event? They've been in production for one day - I think getting ANY footage is pretty awesome! A new look at Mark Hamill and our first glimpse of Rian replacing JJ? Pretty awesome in my book!
