... is hilarious. The "Liberation!" Stuff is great, the Smurfs pastiche "The Good Ant" too, especially (and I literally laughed out loud) the "they replaced the queen you know" ... "Yes, with Servelant" gag is priceless.
it did take me longer than it should have to work out who the actors playing Blake, Avon and Vila in "Liberation!" were. Hint: ones name is Brock Tyler, one has impressive mutton chops and the third is small and hirsute.

I'm in the process of reading this book and am also finding it a lot of fun, even though I'm clearly missing a fair number of the 70s/80s TV in-jokes. I'm really feeling a lack of essential Smurf knowledge here. I did pick up a Dad's Army quote though! And belatedly the Brock Taylor thing I've also noticed a couple of jokes based on gossip about the actors. For instance Brock Taylor wants to direct Browsing for reviews on Amazon, Horizon forum and Good Read's, however, it looks like the book is real Marmite.. In my case, though, it is shaping up to be my favourite so far.
