And I wasn't even referring to David. My reaction was to the entire announcement, which is so full of joyous news for a DS fan--both of the TV series and the audios. I already knew that David is always Line Producer. I knew you weren't, Tracy... On the grounds that you didn't mention him. I was saying 'people' as I wanted it to be clear it was more a general polite 'nothing to see here' . Rather than mentioning people by name and it potentially accidentally coming across like I was saying 'You there, and you too, you're wrong!!'

I applaud Rob's continued involvement with us, and his stance on keeping the details hush. Thank you for sticking around Rob! As to the other, I'm sure you've been threatened within an inch of your life if you spill any news....and I'd rather see you remain alive! LOL.
The same goes for you too, Robert! Thanks!!

Going to try to start and catch up with this series enough so I can see what all the fuss is about by the 50th Anniversary. All the posts here really got me interested. I can feel all of your excitement and it's infectious.

I must say, for me it does pale in comparison to the original, but I don't think it's as bad as Danny Horn's review...which I suspect is somewhat tongue-in-cheek anyway. At the very least, it's way over the top in its focus on Barbara Blackburn--umm, did he think that ANYONE was delivering Emmy quality work here? Even Jean Simmons had to work with what she was given! Not to go off topic here, but I just think I'll add that in my not so humble opinion, there's only one time in tv history where the remake is an improvement over the original--and that's Battlestar Galactica.

I'd argue that they are two vastly different animals but yes, the reboot is a much more interesting & complete show.

I can't help but picture your reaction if someone defended Craig Slocum on that logic - "Even Joan Bennett had to work with what she was given".

I think we're still more concerned with the plot than the extra character names at the moment! Come on Rob you know plot is overrated.

But I still maintain that there was NOBODY on either show who could match Craig Slocum in the bad acting department. Well, perhaps Geoffrey Scott and Lee Beery, but at least they looked good while doing it.

He sounds like a stand-in just going over lines sitting in for someone at a readthrough. My fave "bad" acting, on the other hand was the GLORIOUS Bathia Mapes. Her and Roger playing off against each other was a contest to see who could chew the most scenery. Abwomanely wonderful.

Ol' Barney's trying to be nice and not bite too much these days so Bathia Mapes and Roger certainly bare their teeth more in those eps (I think its 449-50 or 450-51). I love it though, I'm not being sarcasting, they played it so arch that I just adored it. Was gitted when Bathia Mapes was consumed by first. Like Burke Devlin, Bathia Mapes is one of the characters who must have their full names used at all times

Bathia Mapes has to be one of the most memorable names I've heard in Dark Shadows.
