BF Tweeted that the garbled Tweet from BF Day that mentioned 10 and River was
"miss-leading and that are no plans for River and 10"
Another Social media miss-step.

You were just going on what you read Alex has 100% said she'd love to do a set with David and Matt, it's in this month's DWM, so there's nothing to stop it barring availability I think for such an event it would probably be more likely to be in the 10DA format, with a deluxe edition. I know I'd cough up 30 quid for a deluxe book of 3 hour long stories with Ten and River! Sadly I doubt there will be another deluxe set given the 10DA Volume 1 LE set still (surprisingly) for some reason hasn't sold out.

I'd stop worrying about if it sells out or not. If they sold over 4,000 that's a success and would lead them to do more of these sets.

I thought the set would have sold out on the day it was announced given it stars David Tennant as the 10th Doctor and he has a lot of female followers.

Because Tennant has a lot of female followers doesn't mean they know this release exists. And that doesn't change it can be a success even if it doesn't sell out before release. Big finish isn't the BBC, They still haven't sold out of their Limited Editions for Light at the End or Last Adventure. Both of which appeal more greatly to the BF audience than the DW audience as a whole.

I'm only halfway through the first boxset so far, (but enjoying it very much) so I can't speak for how well the 8th Dr is integrated, although hearing River bump into other Doctors is always bound to be fun, I think it will prove more interesting and healthy for River if they expand on her life away from the Doctor first and foremost-I was always a fan of River as a character, and I like Alex's performance very much, but personally I felt River's actual character traits in the Tv series were at times overshadowed by the mystery of her character, her audios are a great chance to really get to know what makes River tick...
That said I'd be very intrigued to hear her meet up with 10 again, and I'd love to hear Sixy's reaction...

I mentioned this on BF's Twitter as well, but rather than having River meet XYZ (though of course, I'd love if River met 1-3 properly for proper stories, and Iris and Jack etc), I think they should have "River meet Eras/Genres." Give her a series Quatermass style, 4 hours of one single story, 1-2 writers. River finds artifact on Earth, shit happens for 4 episodes. Kinda like a Third Doctor story. For fun, have a classic monster as well but them not be the focus, so it's still River's story, River saving the earth. Have River find herself in a Hammer Horror story, make it gothic, a take-up of a classic ala Hinchcliff era. Find River in a pure historical herself, like the Lambert era. And while we're at it, Base Under Siege! Whilst I do adore the River Song series and unlike others, I do rather enjoy the fanjodrell nature of River meeting XYZ, I think there needs to be more innovation in the storytelling itself. And I think having River meet Eras (so to speak) is perfect. Kinda reminds me what David K. Barnes mentioned for his upcoming Daughter of the Gods: He wanted to do less Doctors meeting Doctors, and instead have eras meeting eras. Troughton's lighter era meeting the dark Hartnell era. And as Moffat said himself, Doctor Who works best when its picking bits and pieces from other shows and fiction. So do the same: Have River meet those eras. Really I just wanna see River do Quatermass more than anything else. Well, that and River meet Doctors 1-3 (And even though I'm not sure if Tennant would do it as it'd kinda require neither Tate/Agyeman/Piper, but I still want to see a 10DA set with River).

River and the Library crew would be nice. A returning element that’s directly connected to the character, with unexplored history and an opportunity to put River with a team on her own and give her some more archeological adventures.
I don’t have a problem with putting River with Doctor Who elements as such, but we’ve had six sets of those now. If they do go down that route, then let it be something that she has a history with and/or in an episode or two, not the whole set.
For example, the hint that River will be opposite the Weeping Angels in Series 7 has potential as it’s a monster that she has a direct connection to. If you carefully select when in her timeline the story takes place, say after Angels Take Manhattan, then there’s a lot of potential there.

Surely the Doctor’s Wife and the Doctor’s Daughter need to meet!?
And the only uncertainty is will it be in a River or a Jenny Box?!

All great suggestions but there could be great scope with What River got up to as Cleopatra in Ancient Rome or was that Cary On Cleo?

I was thinking today about all the companions and side-characters that River has met since Silence in the Library, and wondering who she might pal around with next. So, here's my pitch: The Diary of River Song, Volume 9 - Old Friends, New Beginnings!1. Jamie McCrimmon has said farewell to the Doctor, Ben and Polly, choosing not to join them on their adventures through time and space. So why does he keep hearing the voice of the Doctor calling out to him? Who are the Time Lords? And who is River McSong, the new landlady with the least convincing Scottish accent that Jamie has ever heard?
2. Following the Cyberman invasion of London, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart and UNIT are being investigated by a government oversight committee. The committee is led by an odd woman called Mrs. Malone, who quickly convinces the Brig that there may be one or two mechanical men lurking down dark alleyways, or even in the corridors of Whitehall!
3. Sarah Jane Smith is in her first week at the Metropolitan and is sent to investigate a fluff piece about a small-town mystic named Madame Cantica. She doesn't believe in astrology and fortune telling... but how else would Madame Cantica know so much about her? Can she really see Sarah's future?
4. It's early days for River Song and she knows she has a long adventure ahead of her, until she takes a trip to a 1970s university and reads about her own death in the court of King Henry III. River's still new to time travel, so she'll need a historian's help in uncovering the mystery. Luckily, there's a new professor on the campus - a young and eager woman named Evelyn Smythe.
This is obviously not for those who are against recasts - every story would have at least one... but I thought focusing on, say, a younger Sarah, would make Sadie Miller's version of the character stand out in a good way! Anyway, all just for fun anyway. Just can't stop my brain from inventing stuff, dang it!
