The Odyssey would be a terrific book to adapt. Big Finish has such a tremendous stable of actors that could flesh out the cast. Tom Baker could be Agamemnon and Dan Starkey could be the Cyclops. As a Classicist, I routinely pitch this to whoever might listen, together with other bits and bobs! Maybe one day... Well I'm glad to see that there's someone at Big Finish who loves the Odyssey. Sinbad would be another great one to adapt. The movies were decent but left a lot to be desired. The one with Patrick Troughton was decent. I fear into today's political climate that stories like Sinbad, The Prince of Persia, and other Middle Eastern set franchises will take a long break. Big Finish should definitely do something in that classic Adventure genre. Adventure is sort of that last great genre that hasn't been tackled yet.

Doomwatch could be a good one. The Champions might have some potential, too.

I was thinking this week that The Invaders would be a great series for Big Finish to take on. BF have recorded with its star, Roy Thinnes, in the past and the tone of the show seems well suited for audio. I could envision a series of boxed sets with a lot of possibilities for different kinds of stories.

Hello again. The 1990s were full of sci-fi/fantasy programmes that tried to fill the void left by Dr. Who. We had the various incarnations of Star Trek, Channel 4 was showing Babylon 5 an interesting show with some great performances Walter Koenig as the villainous Bester was a revelation. It has some potential for audio interpretation perhaps? Red Dwarf started on radio as a sketch and is crying out for an audio version. Who remembers Bugs, Lexx and the very odd Farscape with that really creepy villain.
I saw Crime Traveller but I preferred Virtual Murder. This was an oddity shown in the dog days of the summer of 92. It tried to emulate the Avengers but wasn't really clever or witty enough.
There were a lot of connections to Who. Philip Martin wrote the first episode. Guest stars included Bernard Bresslaw, Jon Pertwee, Alan David,Peggy Mount and Helen Lederer. I enjoyed it, but no one else did! Anyone remember it?
In the slough of makeover programmes, Noel's Houseparty and boring reality shows it was shows like Murder Most Horrid, dinnerladies and Father Ted which kept me going during the Who drought.
Murder Most Horrid, which a certain Steven Moffatt wrote 3 episodes of, would be fun to hear on audio... Altogether now "and you wake in the night, wipe the sweat from your for'ead - Murder Most Horrid!...

Having just finished re-watching a couple of shows, I loved to see a continuation of Dark Matter (please, please, please!), as well as Torchwood style releases for Sanctuary (single releases, cast reunion box sets, 'Season 5', etc.). Sanctuary was a great show, even if it had its ups and downs. While it had an opportunity to wrap things up, it could easily go further. Heck, in half an hour I was able to draw up rough story lines for seasons 5-7 without even having to think that hard about it! Both shows are great fits for Big Finish... maybe I should write in to the podcast?

If wishes were horses..
Jonathan Barnes adapting every Sherlock Holmes story not yet done.. and writing a few new ones to boot.
Professor George Challenger!!
Big Finish does Jules Verne.
The Three Musketeers and The Man in the Iron Mask.
The Avengers. Loads more Avengers. BF have their Steed. They now have all his associates from the very beginning to the very end. Hopefully Too Many Targets will give them the chance to tell new stories.
Spy Thrillers. Will never happen but would love to listen to Big Finish's interpretation of Le Carre's novels.
Man in a suitcase. The Persuaders. The Champions. Danger Man. Department S. Jason King. The Saint. If it works for Callan..
Survivors and The Omega Factor. If not as boxsets, then maybe adaptations or original stories read by original cast members.
Drama Showcase series 3.
And just to dive into the "will never ever happen but I can dream"..
Xena : Warrior Princess!
Mystery Science Theater 3000!
Buffy The Vampire Slayer!
Plus...
Quatermass. How the heck did I forget Quatermass?
Max Headroom.
Stingray!!

I could list hundreds of shows I'd love for Big Finish to adapt/expand on. But here is a handful of stories I'd love to see the Classics range tackle... Paradise Lost Count of Monto Cristo Les Miserables Macbeth (Starring Mark Bonnar of course ) The Alexandria Quartet

I've recently started watching Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency and given it's now cancelled and Samuel Barnett is becoming a regular at Big Finish I wouldn't mind adaptations of the original novels or CC type series based in the universe of the show...

Having watched it for the first time last month: surely BF must have enquired about Press Gang at some point? It did give the company its name!

YES! I didn't know I wanted this, but yes, so much yes! Also, I know it's completely out of left field, but I'd love them to adapt another one of the series from my childhood (I know, I'm a really young so and so): Martin Mystery. I'm certain it would work perfectly on audio (with such iconic sound effects as Billy's hoverbout) and I think a more adult and "serious" version could be brilliant.

I think i’d quite like to hear some audio Flash Gordon: The old ‘Buster Crabbe’ style, with fiendish plots and peril at every turn. Possibly just as a one-off box set. Well, if was going to be Buster Crabbe style it would have to be twenty minute episodes, released weekly!

Great choices! I'd love to hear more Avengers, particularly stories with Cathy Gale or Tara King. The New Avengers would be great too. I've really enjoyed watching all those ITC spy series recently too. I'm currently watching The Baron which could also work well on audio, but The Saint, The Champions or Department S would top my wish list.

Kolchak: The Night Stalker would work really, really well on audio. That would be brilliant. So far as I recall, the TV series only ran for one season, but it really was ahead of its time. A couple of other shows have just occurred to me: Honey West would be great. In the TV series, she was kind of an American version of Cathy Gale from The Avengers although she may have been different in the novels (I've never read them. An audio version of Jonathan Creek could be quite fun too.

I was watching The Tripods the other day (the 80s BBC TV series version) and thought it would be great if BF could adapt it. Am I right in thinking there are some rights issues involved? Anywhere, here are my reasons - they made a stonking good job of The Martian Invasion of Earth; they like doing things in three's (actually I'm not sure that's a strict fact, but they do excel at the Doctor Who monthly range trilogies. Go with me on this); the original books form a trilogy, and the Tripods have three legs! I think you'll agree that's a pretty convincing list.

The new Survivors TV series. The BBC cancelling it leaving that series 2 cliff hanger was very naughty. Even a two hour wrap up audio featuring the original cast would be brilliant, Julie Graham already does work for BF.
