I mean, we already have three different War Doctors--no reason they can't just keep recasting. I look forward to seeing Paul McGann, Chris Eccleston, Sylvester McCoy, and Alex Kingson all try their hand at the role. And speaking of alternate Doctors, how cool would it be to see a "Doctor of War" prequel boxset with Tom Baker? One episode retelling Genesis of the Daleks with the one twist (again), one to show things spiraling out of hand, closing out with a regeneration story/Davison cameo. The (necessary) absence of Sarah Jane in the story could, alone, be enough to send the Doctor down the "wrong" path. EDIT: also, on the topic of the Dorney tease, given that the Daleks don't exist in this timeline, it's gonna be really weird seeing how the Time War ever starts in the first place. Maybe all of those other Temporal Powers from the GAL range wind up allying against the Time Lords? If we also assume that this less-inhibited Doctor becomes POTHCOG (that's out acronym of choice, right?) in his 5th incarnation, too, it'd make sense that the Time Lords, as a society, might be considerably more meddlesome in this continuity. The point of divergence is probably that the Thal guard didn’t catch Sarah or she got caught by a Dalek and exterminated. Possibly, but I don't know if that would be the best direction to take if they wind up adapting this story. IE it'd be weird to have Sarah in a story where she doesn't speak, and is immediately killed. Also given the continuity snarls around Genesis, it could simply be a matter of the Time Lord who ordered the mission (a far-future Narvin currently) simply choosing to give the order to a later version of the 4th Doctor.

Whoohoo! New unbound. Sounds like it could be quite good, depending.
Doctor who changes history (*ahem* changes it more often and intentionally *ahem*) ≠ Master
Not quite a villain, but more morally dubious, I'd say. Sorta like the Doctor got a bigger dose of Roland. Not cruel for the sake of cruelty, but ends come before means. Still ultimately aimed at the greater good but... not so pure.

And without the help of Sarah Jane or Harry, the Doctor is killed while making his way through the war zone that is Skaro burning through two incarnations in the process. In this alternate universe, the Sixth Doctor may have been the one to meet Davros and ultimately bring about the destruction of the Daleks.

I feel like it’d be more interesting if the Doctor wiped out the Daleks in Genesis, but then continued through roughly the same events of Seasons 13-23, with the main differences being no Dalek stories and the Time Lord stories probably played out different.
I like the idea that the Romana that appears in this is one who’s been through more or less the same events as on tv, but this one was called back from E-Space to join the War and has since regenerated into another new body.
Or potentially the War began sometime around Season 18, but the Doctor has been avoiding it as the Fifth Doctor (as a parallel to the Eighth Doctor) and eventually decides to sacrifice himself on Androzani and become the Warrior.

Could they not build on the alternative timeline the War Master put in place in Anti-Genesis? Not all that familiar with Unbound, although very much looking forward to this pair of sets, given its setting.

Tends to be Unbound altering an aspect from TV rather than BFs own mythos, would alter the premise somewhat. More of a "What If?" or "Elseworlds" from what even casuals will know to be the "correct" version of canon.

I'd think most of the stories would play out differently, as Genesis represents a turning point in the Doctor's character. Even encountering the same situations, we should expect him to react differently. Sort of how that one, initial mistake transformed the the alternate 3rd Doctor from the familiar paragon of confidence to a much more uncertain and reticent character in NABS. This alternate 4th Doctor, I imagine, would be pushed in the opposite direction: brazen and overconfident. Basically the same direction 10 went, minus most of the latter's knowledge and experience. Im hoping to see a wildly different performance from Colin Baker here, as it'll be a lot of fun tracing back how the 4th and 5th Doctors' character arcs might have gone in order to lead the "Doctor of War" to whoever he winds up being. (Personally I'm hoping for something similar to Jacobi's Master: a more quiet and subdued character, but brutally efficient.)

I think a cover reveal of a set relating directly to war is perhaps not the best decision for today. You’re just asking for criticism.

Narvin! Really love this artwork, I'm looking forward to the set even more now. I'm interested to see how they'll handle the Master timeline-wise, and I wonder what those Unbound Daleks are?

Depending how dark they go with this Unbound Doctor and universe, I could see the Daleks in a very minor role where this Doctor might simply eliminate them to varying brutality.

Same reaction here, I'm really happy to see Narvin is in this, considering he won't be in the next Gallifrey box set. I wonder whether Beevers is truly playing an evil Master, given it's not the usual crispy Master. I could see the Doctor being the true villain of the box set. I really don't know what to expect from this new take on the aftermath of Genesis of the Daleks, but the cover is indeed gorgeous.

Wouldn’t surprise me if these Unbound Daleks are more benign examples from another universe. And this AU Doctor is now determined to wipe out all examples across the Multiverse. Would also give him an excuse to cross over to the main universe should Big Finish wish to do so.

I see Tom Baker is credited now as well, so I suppose we'll see the divergence happen!
