I just feel the need to restart this thread here. And it's pretty much for the same reason I started the original thread. You are trying to figure out how to budget pre-ordering all the upcoming releases you just have to own! Without going completely broke!

That I have to have a place to talk about everything that I hear. So thank goodness we have a new forum.

Given my reaction to the forum closure, I wonder if was more addicted to BF or to the BF forum?

I still check the site periodically throughout the day to see if something I've pre-ordered is released, to see if anything awesome is announced (JOHN HURT!!), etc., even though the forum was so abruptly closed....
Oh right. And when a release like the above is announced, I find I've pre-ordered it without bothering to so much as check the balance on my card.

My link on the iPad still goes through the forums.

When you do most of your BF listening via the app whilst walking your dog.
And you head out for a lovely long walk in the autumn sunshine during which you listen to the first part of Zagreus.
And then you get home.
And you sit down for a few minutes....
...you twiddle your thumbs...
...then say to your dog "how about another walk?"...
...just so that you can carry straight on into part two of Zagreus...
...even though you haven't a clue what was going on in part one or whether you even enjoyed it.

The part about taking your dog for another walk just to have an excuse to listen to more BF made me laugh out loud.

The part about taking your dog for another walk just to have an excuse to listen to more BF made me laugh out loud. If it was up to my dog she would have me quit my job and spend all day every day out walking with her. It would certainly help me get through listening to my collection much faster but, without an income, I'd soon have to stop buying new releases. So I'm sticking with my job pretty much only so that I can fund my BF habit.

That was good for another laugh. The bit about your dog loving it if you did nothing but walking her. Pets love our attention.

Today I realized I was considering a road trip that I didn't even really want to go on for the sole reason that it would give me several hours to listen to Big Finish in the car.
Totally addicted.

Today I realized I was considering a road trip that I didn't even really want to go on for the sole reason that it would give me several hours to listen to Big Finish in the car. Totally addicted. A few months ago I was planning a 4 hour road trip to Boston and the 4 hours back. I had my listening all planned, and then my sister asked if she could come. DO you know how hard it was not saying "No, because you're not going to want to listen to Doctor Who in the car"? Choosing BF over family. Addicted.

When you get on ebay and type the letter b, and Big Finish scrolls down.
When everything on your Christmas list comes from Big Finish.
When you lay awake at night, with your eyes wide open, trying to decide between the third doctor box or Dark Eyes.

I continue to spend twice as much on Big Finish as on all my other addictions put together.
It's probably even worse that I've started thinking in terms of Big Finish audios instead of money. I'm very nervous about overdrafts because one of those would set me back a box of Jago & Litefoot, but overdraft insurance would set me back a Companion Chronicle every month. :-)

When you came to BF at first because of their Who ranges and your wider interest in sci-fi and cult tv. Then along comes a sale like this weekend's 'Hidden Gems' one and you think 'hmmm, Phantom of the Opera and the Drama Showcase titles...? What the hell, go on then'.

I recommend The Adventures of Luther Arkwright, if you don't already have it.

I recommend The Adventures of Luther Arkwright, if you don't already have it. I got Luther Arkwright in the 15th Anniversary sale last year. It was just a fiver then. Also got Frankenstein when it was released, and Treasure Island just a few weeks ago when it was on sale. Phantom and the Drama Showcase CDs are the only one in this weekend's sale I don't already have, aside from the poetry ones buts I do have to draw a line somwehere. For now anyway.
