Among other BBC shows on Feb 1 it seems.
Just a heads up.

Do you mind sharing where you heard about this? I haven't been able to find anything besides news of Netflix and the BBC coming to a new deal this time last year.

That's all I saw, too. I don't see any actual current news stating that Torchwood is being dropped.

I saw it on http://www.cinemablend.com>television Well, you didn't provide a direct link to the article you saw, but searching the site I found a 12-month-old article stating that the BBC was dropping Torchwood and a bunch of other BBC shows as of January 31 a year ago. I remember people getting all upset about it at the time and it turned out that it was just a matter of the BBC renegotiating their contract with Netflix. So I'm still dubious.

Sorry. Not adept to leaving links from my phone.
No worries. It's close enough now that Whats Leaving Netflix in February should be plentiful. I didn't see Torchwood in my first search but did find Dr Who leaving.

Everyone is picking up the same story. The same thing happened last January. This story in Variety indicates that Netflix renewed its deal with the BBC.

I don't see why posting a news link from a year ago rebuts links with news from this week. The same first thing happened last January -Netflix said they were going to drop the shows. Untill the same second thing happens -they reach a deal to keep them - you're posting information from a year ago about a separate incident. The way things stand - the shows are leaving.

I picked up the wrong link. Pretty sure I saw one that said it's not leaving, but can't find it on my phone. If. It does leave Netflix, I'll just switch to Hulu, which has a better Classic Who collection anyway.

I think you must have seen an old link - Netflix confirmed earlier to DWO that Who, presumably TW, is 100% leaving Netflix US. Attachment Deleted

No, I saw a current link but it was later changed to say they don't know for sure. Makes no sense for Netflix to remove Doctor Who only from US, as it seems. Doctor Who was the main reason I subscribed to Netflix in the first place.

Well, if you explore the tweets and replies, it appears that the UK and Canada will still be able to view Doctor Who on Netflix. Also, Sweden. If I weren't watching other shows on Netflix right now, I'd drop Netflix altogether. Some people are saying Hulu are losing Doctor Who rights, too, but I haven't seen news to that effect. I can still watch Doctor Who on BBCA, but they show versions that have parts edited out. So I was really looking forward to seeing the unedited version when it came to Netflix.

This isn't surprising in some ways. in the UK the BBC is a public service and it's charter forces it to make strenuous efforts to be pretty much platform neutral. In other countries it is very much a commercial enterprise and will want to drive traffic to it's own services more and more over the coming years. Is it a coincidence the Android and Apple apps for the BBC store have launched today?

It really annoys me that BBCA cuts out parts of the original episode to make room for its very numerous ads.

Guessing Amazon Prime will follow whenever their contract renewal is up.

Is this just modern Who or classic as well? I saw something on Facebook about this but it was only discussing Series 1-9. It will be a shame if all of the Classic series is gone as well. Hulu has a pretty good selection of classic episode. That's how I watched most of the classic series.
