{Spoiler } She says in episode twelve that Trask liked it when she spoke French so she probably started speaking it more in front of him and then more in general.

I'm not sure how much I can add to the Episode 3 conversation. It's good. More and more cast members are introduced. I love how much Angelique humanizes when talking to Harry. with Andrew, she is a villain in so many ways, but Harry she's clearly softer, more caring. I like it.
I'd be very curious to hear Kim's thoughts on who she thinks is the murderer as we go along.

Whenever I give a friend a mystery book or show to read/watch, I always bug them for what they think was going to happen. I'm bossy like that.

I love how much Angelique humanizes when talking to Harry. with Andrew, she is a villain in so many ways, but Harry she's clearly softer, more caring. I like it. Same here. That's a great scene between Angelique and Harry, and creates a wonderful contrast between Harry and Andrew - although I almost have to admire Andrew's level of unapologetic audacity here. I think this episode is where it really gets exciting for me, Angelique is back but this episode really plays with expectations about her and what she's up to, from beginning to end. I certainly admire Harry more than ever after this scene with Angelique. Angelique's use of French was a great touch in that same context, somehow this makes her seem a lot more frightening to me - maybe it's that this seems to be able to lend a fair amount of authenticity to the character? - but being unexpected it also seems to lend to the drama of her introduction (still, even after having heard it before). Anyway, fantastic job by Lara Parker and the writers/producers with that.

Sorry guys bit behind so I'll do 2 and 3 just now! Ep 2. I love that this was yet another "new family to Collinsport" right after the Devereaux's arrival. It's flipped on it's head a bit since it's more a homecoming with Amy. It's wonderful to hear Matt Waterhouse be the alpha male from the outset. He's so goid in this whole saga and I was so happy he won the Bloodlust listener award. Cody (I'm not going to call him Eagle )and Jackie just burst into the scene, don't they? It's like they were waiting for a fellow teen to come to town. Who fancies Harry more though! Andrew couldn't even let Amy catch up with Maggie before taking over the chat and turning him to himself. At my watching in the TV show Maggie has just started as the aupair for Amy and David so it's a bit more relevant for me to hear the two characters reunite here than on first listen last year. With a mother like Jessica who needs enemies? When Ed says he wasn't outside at the rough time of the murder she actively snitches on him to Sherrif Rhonda Then there's Kate keeping her late night strolls secret and Ed helping her...hmmm...Maggie's self deprecating humour about being in Windicliffe multiple times is fantastic stuff. She might sound fragile but this Maggie is clearly more worldly wise than the tv and early audio version. Her ease at grabbing a shotgun and talk of vigilantism is quite terrifying. There's lots of things started to be set up here, some that seems important and goes nowhere and some that becomes vital. Even throwaway dialogue from some quarters becomes vital but I'm spoiler conscious here. Trask - for all his faults hinted at - is at least telling EVERYONE who comes to town that they should leave as fast as possible. Does that make him the true hero of the set? He's the proactive one! "This is Collinsport, it's never the wind" is my fave line here.

Andrew waking Amy up just to make him coffee, then shouting at her to get up gets my blood boiling...he really is controlling and anyone who knows Amy and her lineage is waiting...waiting...waiting for something to snap. Sheriff Rhonda predicting a better day. Poor woman! By the end of this one I think everyone is a potential suspect with red herrings galore. Just as it should be in a murder serial. Now, as a Scot, all I know of Salem is the witch trials so...is the University there somewhere that Mike and Amy are likely to have attended or am I reading into it too much that going to "Salem" is shorthand to give them a connection to the supernatural and occult? The teens going to Widow's Peak is very evocative to me now after seeing the Josette arc on screen. I almost get nervous for them just hanging round there in a way I wasn't on first listen. Down from the peak, at the mine, David Collins acting very oddly (even for him) but Andrew is matching him on the offbeat stakes. Both shifty characters. Then...crikey...Andrew going to the cave and summoning Angelique comes out of nowhere (not in a bad way, just as a surprise) - he really seems to think he can handle the great witch. Well...we've see her deal with a LOT stronger men than Cunningham, haven't we? I love that Angelique strips him down with a vicious character assassination within moments. I'd hate to be on her hitlist. "Maggie Evans is beginning to gather her troops" is my fave line here.

Oh such good stuff!! I'm loving the write ups and reactions!
Thanks Rob, for asking about Angelique's speaking French, because my mind totally drew a blank on that as well. However, I do recall it now! Thanks Bobod!

However, I do recall it now! Thanks Bobod! Originally I just thought it was homage to the 1991 series where both Angelique and Josette had strong French accents... thought it was a nice touch.... I don't recall her doing it again in Bloodline but will find out on the relisten......

There is a Salem State University (when I was living in MA it was only a college). They could have definitely gone to school there.

I'm enjoying reading everyone's comments and agree with all of them. I'm on track with the listening but not with the posting.
Andrew is such a cretin, and Matthew Waterhouse sounds like he's having a great time with it. Kim, a lot of the questions you ask will be answered in upcoming episodes. I don't want to spoil anything for you.

You're in for a great Bloodlust journey. I bet you rattle through it. And if you like behind the scenes stuff - after you've heard it we can direct you to lots of podcasts where I interview cast and crew - Matthew Waterhouse, Stephanie Ellyne, Lachele Carl, David Darlington, Joe Lidster, and loads more...

I do love that you're hearing it for the first time. A relisten is always rewarding (I've lost count how many times I've listened to it), but first hand experiences are a delight to hear! So do join in TimeLord!
(But you might want to stay away from this thread until you're up to episode 4!)

And, of course, although your CDs are in the post, you can always catch up to everyone else via the downloads in the meantime. If you bought from the BF site.
