Well, yeah, people don't just create this stuff for free. Everything has to be paid for somewhere by someone or all we'll ever get are fan films/fiction, and we wouldn't have those if it wasn't for the paid or product that created the fan base in the first place. Yeah but I mean more the 'pay for extra content' thing, not merchandise or books. LEGO Dimensions is a good example, having to buy NFC minifigures to unlock more content whereas a book wouldn't fit what I mean because you don't unlock extra pages by buying hidden chapters or something. Except of course when you buy the sequel.

I don't see the problem. The kids and I pooled our Christmas money and got Lefo Dimensions and the doctor who level pack for christmas. Yes the extra packs add more cost, but they aren't essential to the game, they form fun add-ons in their own right, just like buying a standalone toy or game. And the BBC is always very careful to ensure that paid content is never an essential part of the viewing experience.

Anyway, a new superhero series. To be honest I'm reaching saturation. I'm going to wait until after I've finished Arrow 4, Flash 2 and Supergirl, then consider whether I could get through Jessca Jones and Daredevil 2 in a 30 Netflix trial before this comes out. Oh and Shields back on this Sunday and didn't I hear somewhere Agent Carter's comjng back and there's just so many others. I'm running out of life. At least I can squeeze in Big Finish on the move.

Looking at the trailer this is not going to be like those at all. There'll be no CW sheen or ABC goofiness. This should stand alone from those but I am - generally - in absolute agreement with you. Marvel and DC are of course making hay while the sun shines but there's certainly an argument to make that they're going to cause the bubble to burst sooner than it need do.

I make an allowance for LEGO and Doctor Who but I don't bother with Skylanders and Disney Infinity because they look ****. I only used LEGO Dimensions as an example because it's a good one of paying more for extra content and as I previously said, if it's Doctor Who I justify paying more for extra content.

Ahh, fair enough, misunderstood you.

One always decides it's not worth it unless it features Doctor Who. Which, ironically, is free to view, in the UK at least (well, assuming you've forked out for a TV licence at all). It's free to watch without a licence anyway - if you watch it round a friend's or on iPlayer within a month of broadcast (just not 'live'). The title Lucky Man just makes me think of Lindsay Anderson and Malcolm McDowell.
