As a celebration I like the fact that Big Finish are throwing everything in the mix. Thank heavens it is an eight hour story and can accommodate it all.
Having a concept that allows past Doctors to meet new character is especially appealing if it allows Missy and the War Master to encounter some of the Classic Doctors.
I am having fun just trying to decide which matchups I most want to listen to!

Classic & Nu team ups made possible by Degeneration I'd love to see 3rd Doctor meets War Master 8th Doctor meets the War Doctor 1st Doctor meets older Susan Anything that includes 12th Doctor voiced by Capaldi

Forgot to say this at the time but I’m a little surprised considering her appearance in ‘Relative Time’ and now this, that Big Finish have yet to bite the bullet and do a no set featuring just the Fifth Doctor and Jenny.
You know, something akin to ‘Wicked Sisters’ from only a few years ago.

If BF has started banking stories with all the other classic Doctors the way they have with 4, who knows how far ahead they have recorded and what combinations they have in store?

I have to say, the standard edition covers are much better than the special edition ones

I have to say, the standard edition covers are much better than the special edition ones It does seem like it should've been the other way round doesn't it? Standard show the Doctor and the main TV Guest Character hook involved, with Specials showing all the detail now being shown in the Standard. Regards mark687

You get the standard edition cover artwork in the special edition download. Although I thought they said that wasn't going tohappen I got it in mine.

I don’t think the Once & Future limited edition covers will be done justice until we get them in hand, with the embossed logo and presumably a thicker card and finish.

Quite melancholy with Davison and Baker playing their the most circumspect take on the roles, add to that the inclusion and acknowledgement that Jenny is Family and the generally loose but affecting plot.

I have to say, the standard edition covers are much better than the special edition ones I like how they have incorporated the diamond into the overall design. It is shame it isn’t included in the physical SE package. It seems an odd marketing decision for the standard edition to have something extra to the special edition.

Wasn’t keen myself. Didn’t feel like Jenny was needed beyond a couple of references to family, reinforced by the fact there’s huge sections where she’s missing, and amazingly I don’t think there was any rapport between Peter & Georgia at all.
I’m not sure The Curator was required other than adding another returning element for the anniversary. The concept he’s involved in is sound, although not as well realised as it could’ve been, but it doesn’t seem to suit his character, at least not for me anyway.
Feels like more of a divergence from the overriding story than Past Lives was. And what we get isn’t especially entertaining.

Well if you wanted the Fifth Doctor and Jenny…go buy The Legacy of Time. Their interactions are far and away the least interesting thing here. Relative Time did that premise far, far better.
For the first 15 minutes I was not engaging with this at all. It seemed once again a crossover in search of a plot. Happily once the Curator turns up, there’s a story! Its an interesting take on a really latter days Curator and Baker works well with this material.
Outside of the Curator…erm, there’s just not much here.

I've just listened to this on the commute home and it really didn't do anything for me. It didn't hook me in at all, I found myself thoroughly disengaged from the plot. I hate having to be negative, particularly when I adore the Jenny spin off series, but even the characters inclusion here is unnecessary. There are some nice moments at the end but they don't feel earned. A shame really as despite a couple of flaws I enjoyed Past Lives so here's hoping the next release is a step up.

I loved the core idea of the last known art of a dying world being valuable. Also thought the Curator was used in a very interesting fashion, as I’d had no real interest in the Colin version before (this is the first I’ve heard him), that’s quite a feat! The Doctor/Daughter relationship felt a little undercooked and a apart of me wonders if that relationship should have been perhaps more central to the action than the Curator’s actions- but I enjoyed it, so why complain.

I thought this was alright, but overall a bit lacking. So far the main conflict feels too dragged out and it feels as though the episode has to remind you at various points about the unstable regeneration by bringing in Noonan, Troughton and Treloar for a brief line or two. It’s taking too long to kick into gear and it’s lacking the interesting characterization that might have made up for it.
Nothing that I’d really call “bad,” but two episodes in and I’m just feeling sort of whelmed, especially in comparison with The Legacy of Time.

Still got a fair few releases yet to pass full judgement, but I wonder if they made a mistake allowing these to be purchased individually? It means there’s not enough content to satisfy a standalone story or an overriding arc. It may get more arc heavy as we go further in, but then we move further away from standalone stories that are presumably the reason they were available individually in the first place?
Will be interesting to see how the story unfolds as we go on; I’d like to see more emphasis on the degeneration and how the incarnations react already knowing their futures.

The bizarre thing is The Legacy of Time did the balance of individuality and arc much better even though it was only available as a bulk purchase so didn’t even really need to bother with that.
