And another so soon and under very similar circumstances to Bowie.
May he rest in peace, a terrific actor with a great voice.

An amazing actor, hands down Alan was the best villain in Die Hard & hilarious in Galaxy Quest besides his role of Snape in the Harry Potter films.
Quality Brit who will be sadly missed from our stage & screens.

While he was great in many films, I don't think he was ever better than as Eamonn De Valera in Michael Collins.

My personal favorite Rickman performance is probably in Sense and Sensibility. It may not of been the first of his I saw but it was the first of his that I remember seeing and that he really stood out to me as an actor. It was really a great adaption and he was just terrific in it.

Very sad news. He was perfect as Snape in Harry Potter and I'd have loved to have seen him in Doctor Who.

I only posted on Facebook yesterday that he'd be a great pick as Puddleglum for the upcoming Narnia film, The Silver Chair.

Lemmy Bowie and now rickman. It hasn't been a good couple of weeks for the legends of film and music

remember he was the voice of god in kevin smith's dogma as well he also squared off against tom selleck in a quick draw
he had such a singular presence on film he was at once that rickman guy but complete the role at the same time and that voice
nice piece by the bbc
he and his wife were together as a couple since 19 and 18 just kids man they had a good run even if they just got married last year staying together that long takes some doing

I remember Emma Thompson won a great deal of praise for making the adaptation so open and vibrant wheras BBC can be...stuffy I've also not seen Galaxy Quest since it came out and I have no interest in ever seeing Prince Of Thieves again though he's the best thing in it (not hard!)

Oh Galaxy Quest is a lot of fun. I only saw it pretty recently. On paper it didn't sound like a movie I would enjoy (I'm very picky with comedy) but it was a really well done parody.
