The Giggle is, for all intents and purposes, the finale of NuWho and we now know Gatwa will headline 'Season One'. Which begs the question - what nickname ought we give this new phase for the show, so we can quickly differentiate it?

I've been saying Bad Wolf Who, just as I said BBC Wales era for "New Who" more and more as the "new" became over a decade old.
DisneyWho has connotations - people are often only mentioning them if their take is negative. It also gives Disney too much credit. RTD and Collinson laid out in DWM that Disney are free to offer notes and suggestions just as CBC were for Eccleston's run. That everything gets run by them, and some ideas have been taken on board as they improved the end product but that Disney can't veto or dictate.
The Whoniverse? The BBC have already said that refers to ALL of the show's past, present and future - as borne out by the Whoniverse app going from 1963 to a trailer for the next episode. So that's out.
Mk3? Bit K9, bit Deep Purple (that's the name for the lineup with David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes when Ritchie Blackmore was still there) but...bit dull.
The most important part? The public - the ones who make shows into hits - don't care. The kind of viewer who watch appointment TV like Call The Midwife, Death In Paradise, Strictly, Line Of Duty and other massive hits but with zero knowledge or interest what season it is numerically or who produces it. Just that it's back on with new eps.

The best suggestion I’ve seen so far is from an Australian comedian: Who-dis

I guess it's probably gonna be called the Whoniverse soon enough, but I'm rather fond of New New Who.

RTD2-Who?
'Whoniverse' is too grandiose and anyway lots of people already use it to mean all 'Doctor Who' stories across all media, in classic and new eras combined.
'Who Mk3' was the greatest Doctor of all Time (and Space) so it's only fitting that an era should be named in his honour, but I'll be surprised if fans of others Doctors will agree.
Agree with antartiks , I think it should be 'New New Who'. Let's have an era named in the style of a city from another era; resets may come and go but it's still (I hope) 'Doctor Who'.

How about WhoOops Upside Your Head?
RTD loves a musical interlude, as we've seen with The Toymaker and his Spice Girls attack.

I like Whoniverse but Disney Who is funny, it annoys the naysayers... so I voted for that!
I'm hoping the Disney deal takes off and brings a whole new audience to Doctor Who... the three anniversary specials looked as good as anything out there. Plus, they were well written, well produced and Ncuti Gatwa is an absolutely brilliant actor... for me that is a recipe for success going forward.
Oh and Daleks... the international streaming world is going to love Daleks!!!*
My money is on 'Season One' being a BIG success... if I'm wrong I will change my Avatar!
*IF they should happen to appear of course... snigger snigger... RTD lies... etc. etc..

What? What? What? Season 1. That was Hartnell in 63! So even "season" doesn't solve it! Though, it's all just nice shorthand for us. Eastenders fans or Call The Midwife probably don't have debates about the titles of eras!

If you're keeping the numbering of New Who, boys, then it's...Series 14. Season 14 starred Tom Baker.

Classic Who was seasons, new Who (both iteratiins) is Series. A complete rewriting of history! We NEVER called it seasons back in the day. All the people who actually worked on the show, back in the day, beg to differ. As evidenced by all the documentaries, books, commentaries and other special features.

Classic Who was seasons, new Who (both iteratiins) is Series. A complete rewriting of history! We NEVER called it seasons back in the day. Yeah....wrong. Seasons has been used for decades. Since Doctor Who Magazine was "Doctor Who Weekly" it would have features from "the new season" and the annual season poll.. Terrence Dicks talks about "how to write a season of Doctor Who" in his classic The Making Of Doctor Who from 76. The same man who, along with Barry Letts uses "series" only to mean "serial" or "story" in the commentaries. The blurays have documents on the PDF files commissioning writers for "the next season of Dr. Who". Maybe you didn't call them "seasons" but "we" did, back in the day.
