At last! Surprised they haven't done this years ago. Will hopefully bring a bigger audience to BF. They don't publicise their Spotify content. Will this come under the Whoniverse brand?

Cracking initiative that will really hinge on the output they put out. I hope this is used as a way to encourage fans to take the plunge into Big Finish and they choose stories that are representative of their current output, with attractive sales that capitalise on the story that’s just gone out. If they end up dwelling on the favourites too much, then a substantial amount are already on Spotify or don’t naturally lead into other ranges and releases, rendering the initiative pretty redundant.
Death and the Queen is a great first start; put the other Tennant releases on sale to coincide and get fans hooked. That can lead into, say, the River range (via a purchase of 10 & River), which naturally opens itself up to other series via their crossovers.

Well its good that Big Finish gets more publicity see how things go i guess I wonder if this has anything to do with the BFs that went on BBC Sounds, where they accidentally made them downloadable for the first week or so - could this have been so appealing that they've decided to do it formally? They don't publicise their Spotify content. Will this come under the Whoniverse brand? Probably. As far as Spotify goes I wish they would make it clear what they've put up there, I'm always worried that what I'm listening to might be pirated and I can't tell

I wonder if this is as much of a trial as an anniversary thing. I’m sure everyone at BF knows that streaming dominates the market and their model is increasingly niche. Chances are the people who’ll tune into these aren’t likely to be people who’ll take a punt on purchasing, so given that at least a few people will use this as a way in to buying, it’s quite possible it’ll result in more money rather than less. If they do well enough from it, it could end up being a regular thing.

Sixie referred to a 'new Big Finish website' there. I'm sure Nick mentioned in a podcast last year that one was coming. I wonder if it will launch the same day as the first episode of the podcast?

If they've got any sense, they won't bring this out tomorrow.... Let things die down a bit. Easter Saturday, make it special.

Why would they hate doing this? There are hundreds upon hundreds of existing Doctor Who releases, with what feels like hundreds more being released every month. So they get an officially branded, officially promoted, free Doctor Who podcast where they put out at most two stories a month from the back catalogue - old stories which probably make them a pittance at this point - which acts as a huge promotional tool for what Big Finish do. They couldn't ask for better advertising than this.

Why would they hate doing this? I think Sir Wearer of Hats meant that BF are probably as fed up with their consultant-designed tagline as everybody else is
“Big Finish… for the love of podcasts”. I rather think they hate having to do this. If they've got any sense, they won't bring this out tomorrow.... Let things die down a bit. Easter Saturday, make it special. Let what things die down? The whole "DW episodes will be released at times to suit the US, not UK, audience" debacle on Friday. It could have overshadowed a Saturday podcast release
