This does sound interesting and I may well get it.
Is anyone aware of what has happened with Osiris (also by everybodyelse); as far as I know the first instalment only has been released. I got the first part and enjoyed it enough as a 'scene setter' to go again if another comes out. I think the plan originally was for 6, but I suspect that may have been overly ambitious and may not happen (at least in the foreseeable).

We have the second episode being released before Christmas, but you are correct. Osiris was well-received by reviewers and listeners but because it is an original audio drama and not based on a TV series, film or an adaptation the sales were overestimated and it has been difficult to draw in new listeners. Having said that, our adaptation of The War of the Worlds is getting a lot of attention and if we get that right (a definitive adaptation) we can move on with Osiris and other very exciting projects.

I was wondering when the next Osiris episode is out. I liked the first instalment; it is kind of weird to start a series and then not bother with it though.

We've just had to slow it down considerably due to being a new business where working capital still needs building upon.

Well, the pilot is something that I have yet to delete from my mp3 player. It gets repeat listening.

Our upcoming audio drama adaptation of H. G. Wells' 1897 story The War of the Worlds will be available to pre-order from 1st January 2016. Limited edition pre-orders will be at our early offer prices for those that missed the Kickstarter project and payments are via Paypal, which will allow us to put more funding into the project. Call me skeptical, but doesn't a second round of funding signal problems?

Call me skeptical, but doesn't a second round of funding signal problems? I'm skeptical too, unfortunately... mainly because I purchased episode one of their previous project, Osiris, around November 2014 (fifteen months ago!) and episode two still hasn't been released. So I am not putting any money in to this project - as delightful as it sounds - as they can't afford to finish Osiris, but are happy to take money off people for this new project? So good luck to them, but I will wait for War of the Worlds to actually be released before parting with any of my cash.

I was wondering about this (prompted by BF's announcement of their Wells adaptations) and tried to go to the Everybodyelse website. I was redirected to www.sherwoodsoundstudios.com/coming-soon/, which features some tripods occasionally revealed by faux lightning. Apparently thier website will launch "this January". The also have a Facebook page which says Sherwood Sound Studios is the rebranding of Everybodyelse Productions, and includes a link to script extracts available for 7 days (from 1 January?). It still says The Coming of the Martians will be out in 2017 (January/February according to an earlier post on FB. The name is apparently a result of complaints from Jeff Wayne (or someone with ownership of that musical adaptation - there's info available to supporters of the kickstarter campaign) about use of the title. I guess it's fair enough to keep financial backers updated, but keeping any of these updates from potential other purchasers makes it harder to be confident in throwing in money in advance given some of the concerns above. There may be life in this project yet...

And why do they have to change the title to The Coming Of The Martians but Big Finish is allowed to use The War of the Worlds?

And why do they have to change the title to The Coming Of The Martians but Big Finish is allowed to use The War of the Worlds? That one has confused me for a while. Did everyone who wanted to adapt the War of the Worlds have to get a license from Jeff Wayne prior to Jan 1st and if they did, why did he not renew the licence to keep forcing it? It's all a bit strange, which is annoying because I funded this and was looking forward to it. Now it has to compete with BF's (Nick Briggs's) version. Cheers Tony

There may be life in this project yet... It's probably bit late now that BF are doing a version, that carries the proper story title and is part of a bigger H.G. Wells series of adaptations in the Big Finish Classics range. (I will wait for the BF version anyway.)

Unfortunately, I don't much chance of this doing as well as they hope, with Big Finish doing an adaptation with the name instead of a new one that people won't automatically think War of The Worlds.

Big Finish's adaptation may no longer be named War of the Worlds: title now TBC.

Cheers Tony It sounds (pun unintended) like Wayne believes he holds to rights to the title War of the Worlds on audio format. He's had since 1978 to enjoy the success, why should he kick up a fuss now?
