Excellent. So hopefully we still get 8 hours a year of the 8th Doctor but with one half of the year being Time War and the other half of the year being a different story line. And did it sound like Nicola Walker was in there at some point in the Time War teaser?

I didn't hear Nicola Walker's voice -- although, admittedly, I've only heard the teaser once.
Classic Monsters, New Doctors Vol. 2 also has an Eight/Time War story (written by Matt Fitton) featuring Cardinal Ollistra. That's due out in July.

There was also the stark realization made after purchase that I'll be almost 60 when part 4 of this is released.

I'm not sure about this. On the one hand, it's a great and completly unexpected shakeup, on the otherhand, I would have prefered any glimpse ahead to be less defined and more mystified rather then a series of box sets. Don't get me wrong, Big Finish are going to give themselves plenty of room to work with and there still is going to be plenty of mystery ahead, but still....I can't help but feel less might have been more. And I get this part of the creative gaunlet Big Finish throws at itself regularly. I do. Big Finish takes risks and it's one of reasons why I love their output so much.
That trailer was fantastic, however.

Yeah, I'd imagine we're getting one Time War set and one continuing adventures following Doom Coalition set. I previously said that I wanted Big Finish to move away from 8 having long adventures like Dark Eyes and Doom Coalition, but if the DC follow up(s) are stand alone sets I think that's perfect.

Same here! All goes well, I should be finished by the end of next year (that is if I don't go on to do Masters, etc.; not sure what I'm going to do yet - I have to get that far first )

I'm not prepared for just how damn dark this series is going to get. We're going beyond To The Death, everyone. Doctor Who plunging away from the light is going to be incredibly disturbing.

I hope that the other Eighth Doctor boxed sets are all stand alones, and not part of a new four box saga, or else Big Finish may end up in a position where they are basically competing with themselves.
I also wonder if four Time War boxed sets isn't a bit of overkill, especially combined with the other Eighth Doctor Time War stories in other releases.
That said, I hope for the best, and will be buying them all regardless.

Eh, I think I'd prefer it if the Eighth Doctor box sets would continue to tell an ongoing and approchable narrative. That doesn't negate more solitary releases, but as Big Finish is the company (at present) pushing and driving the character forward, I'd prefer more momentum, particularly since for many fans, the question with Eight's adventures now is: How do Eight's adventures connect with the revival series? You can't really do what the original series did.
Eh, I wouldn't say it's overkill. There is a lot of intrest from fandom in how Eight fits into that era - and we don't know yet how this box sets connect with The Night of The Doctor. I don't think it's going to be a direct lead-in.
I'm incredibly excited

I think I'm over any skepticism. Big Finish have flash forwarded and back before to great effect, I have no doubt they'll handle it brilliantly here.

This is very good news. I do worry slightly we are getting re-written War Dr stories, which I would be dubious of given that the premise of 8's stories (non-involvement in the Time War) is the polar opposite of War's (involvement in the Time War). Even if that is the case however, I am reassured by the high quality of BF's output that they can make any re-writes work.

I am not that excited for this. The more they say about the Time War the less interesting it gets. I am yet to listen to the War Doctor stuff. Is he sufficiently different from the others? I love Day of the Doctor, but I don't think they gave a very good reason for other Doctors wanting to forget him.

I don't have any issues with slightly rewritten War Doctor stories. Eight knows Ollistra from DC and we know he was part of the Time War so I doubt it would take much to adapt them to fit.
Perhaps we can finally get a story that leads into Mary's Story.
Cheers
Tony

As I wrote in the timelines sub forum aaages ago: Jonathan Morris also noted on his blog several short deleted scenes for this story: underthreehundred.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/mary-mary.htmlWhich was presumably at the time meant to be a reference the 9th Doctor tardis having bigger windows,
