My daughter picked up the PS VR rig with her Christmas money. I felt like a real adult as I travelled around with her from store to store, trying to find a place that had it on the shelves.
I've been playing her copy of Beat Saber. It's a rhythm game, and I'm absolutely no good at those, but it's so much fun to play. I even get a little bit of exercise!

Spectacularly late to the whole modding thing, but since discovering Nexus Mods last year I've been modding the bejeezus out of Skyrim Special Edition (PC). It has transformed the game from when I originally played.
Currently roaming the lands with a Khajiit named Inigo, a Professor from Solitude with an attitude and a flatulence problem and Dwemer Centurion with a severe case of the blues. Not to mention dear old Lydia, who I keep around purely for sentimental reasons. The interaction with each is a lot of fun! 😊

Spider-man (PS4): The City That Never Sleeps Expansion. Thankfully great value. It's been a flippin' brilliant year to be a Spider-man fan. And getting to see so many varied interpretation of the character and his world: The buildup to the final showdown with Hammerhead was really well done as he goes to greater lengths to become powerful.
Soulcalibur VI. I've loved this game to pieces. Really enjoyed the Player Character Story, and now I'm finally dipping into the Character Campaigns. Context is so important to making a fighting game interesting to me, and in a minimalist yet effective way, you get to explore the characters side-stories across different points in the timeline.
A big improvement on Soulcalibur IV, which was just 5 battles and a short cutscene. I do like the Tekken style, where each character gets a non-canon victory/conclusion after beating Arcade Mode, but this multiple side stories set in different places and time is a much preferable approach.

Haha, another fellow Khajit!
From my first Elder Scrolls game (Morrowind, which I still think is the best) my first character always was a sneaky cat burglar.

I am in awe of the modders and their abilities to transform the games. Admittedly some of the mods quickly fall by the wayside once I've tried them out, but others such as Inigo (the level of attention to his interactions with other npcs and the player is something else), Professor Doon (appeals to my childish sense of humour, especially when I'm stealthily walking through a crypt ready to strike down a Draugr..and the good Professor farts) and M.A.R.P.H.I.N. (quite possibly the greatest tribute to the Hitchhikers Guide in all of Skyrim) are staying for as long as I can possibly get away with.😊

He's so well-written, from his interactions with major NPCs to the backstory with his brother. It's been years since I've played, but I can still remember him. Just the kind of companion you want on a long trek through somewhere like Skyrim. I think the last time I opened up Skyrim was for a total conversion mod called Enderal, which completely reinvents the game from the ground up; somehow turning it from an open-world toybox to a really densely-packed, almost Fable-esque kind of tale. Well worth checking out if you've got the hard drive space.

Was looking at Beyond Skyrim once I'd defeated Alduin and Haarkon and Miraak and dispatched the Ebony Warrior to Sovngarde, but I'm intrigued by what I'm now looking at on YouTube to give Enderal a go. We'll see what my poor PC can handle though! 😊

Got myself Borderlands 2 (while it was on special last week) and have been playing that for a bit. Nice to blow stuff up. Also got Tales from the Borderlands since I LOVE Telltale Games (RIP) and finished it up in the past 3 days because it was just great.

I can't say that they were good "games" and they desperately needed to get a new engine, but damn, releases like The Wolf Among Us(Their best work and based off of a wonderful series called Fables), Tales from the Borderlands and the first season of The Walking Dead are some narrative classics.

You are right. Those were the very best games they have done! Yes, the gameplay was a bit old fashioned, some QTE annoying- but they always ran on my old laptop, there were some real tear jerkers in there and many great characters.
Telltale will be sorely missed.

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
My daughter recommended this after watching some videos on YouTube and we're playing it together. It's Phoenix Wright meets Agatha Christie meets Battle Royale in a Japanese high school with an evil bear. It's just bonkers.

Had a bit of a mini-tournament with some friends. We each picked a game and set a task.
First was race to the end-boss in "Breath of the Wild". I had to mulligan, but I made it a close second by high jumping with the glider. Next was "Mario Kart", which I've never been good at, but I did a lot better by watching my friends and using their car builds. Then my pick. "Bloodborne". Get the most souls in 20 minutes. It was close but I won. Haven't touched the game in months, but I slipped right back in.
The tie-breaker was competitive "Puyo Puyo Tetris". My god that game is addictive!

Just finished the Terra campaign in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep last night. I genuinely think this game has always been the best of the series just because of the trio and the ultimate tragedy of their fates and it's the one I always come back to just because the battle system is sheer fun.

Started my first Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy IV on PC and it’s fun, trope heavy, but so far the characters are fun.
